Reliable Mold Damage Repair for Coral Springs

1/27/2023 (Permalink)

Mold is a resilient organism that can grow almost anywhere in the home. But now worries! SERVPRO is trained in complete mold remediation.

How SERVPRO Technicians Perform Mold Remediation

Mold is a resilient organism that can grow almost anywhere in the home. The key ingredient to life is water, which is no different for microorganisms. There are numerous ways moisture can get into a home. Some of these may be through plumbing or insulation problems. Others may be caused by leaving wet clothes or fabrics in enclosed spaces. Finally, wet rooms and window frames are common areas for molds to grow because they experience regular temperature changes and exposure to vapor. SERVPRO technicians can help assist you with the following:

  • Mold removal
  • Mold Remediation
  • Mold mitigation

A home with mold damage in Coral Springs is unpleasant for homeowners. Uninhibited growth of microbes can cause damage to material in the house which is noticeable by yellowing, breaking apart, or staining. Equally undesirable is the release of musty odors and palpable dampness, which is endemic in microbial infestations. If you are aware of damp areas in the home, a dehumidifier can be a prudent investment providing that you factor in running costs. If there is a long-term problem or visible signs of mold growth, it may be necessary to bring in professional mold remediators to avoid expenses further down the line.

SERVPRO technicians are certified in remediation by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certifications (IICRC). We have practical solutions that can work around your schedule and help bring microbial infestations under control. While cleaning and scrubbing surfaces can be helpful in the short term, controlling microbial growth long-term requires investigation and correction of a moisture problem. Our team finds and resolves these issues first before tackling the existing damages.

  • Installing vapor barriers in low-insulation parts of the home can limit microbial growth.
  • Ensuring a fully-functioning sump pump is installed in the crawlspaces of the property can further eliminate moisture issues.
  • Detecting slow leaks and insulating water pipes is another reliable method for correcting moisture problems and protecting your home from mold.

To ensure the long-term condition of your home, contact SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland for mold damage remediation at (954) 973-4130 now.

What Water Damage Repair in Coral Springs Involves

9/27/2022 (Permalink)

Appliance malfunctions are a significant source of water leaks each year. Always keep an eye out for leaks.

Trust SERVPRO for Water Damage Repair in Coral Springs

One main reason for constructing homes is to have a place safeguarded against snow, rain, extreme temperature changes, and sleet. However, when a pipe bursts or an appliance malfunctions, your home can flood, damaging the walls, flooring, furniture, and other items.

Water damage can affect your home’s structural integrity. Getting specialist water damage repair for your Coral Springs residence can prevent further destruction. SERVPRO can remove the water within a day, dry the space, sanitize it to prevent mold growth, and remove unsalvageable materials or items. SERVPRO can handle water damage of any severity efficiently. Our water damage repair process includes the following steps:

  • Inspection
  • Water extraction
  • Loss mitigation
  • Drying
  • Antimicrobial application

Inspection

During the inspection process, our SERVPRO technicians can quickly identify the water source, confirm the type of water, and determine the severity of the damage. Our team locates the areas of a house where water has intruded and defines the extent to which contents and structure have absorbed moisture beyond normal levels. We can use devices like thermal imaging cameras, moisture sensors, and moisture meters to track dampness on your property. We also create a detailed action plan.

Water Removal

After assessing the situation, it is vital to extract the water soon enough. Our SERVPRO team can use portable extractors to remove the standing water. The components of an extractor include a vacuum system, pump, and heater. The three systems remain in use as we clean carpets and upholstery.

Loss Mitigation

We can work with you to reduce the potential for additional damage occurring. This can include raising or moving furniture and removing or securing other items that can sustain damage after prolonged exposure to excess moisture.

Drying

Our team can conduct effective drying quickly and thoroughly. This involves drying materials like drywall, hardwood flooring, and carpets using air moving and dehumidifying equipment.

Antimicrobial Application

Microbes tend to amplify after a water intrusion incident. The application of antimicrobial products is not always necessary. Our SERVPRO technicians use them on a case-by-case basis based on the risk and level of contamination.

Is Flooding a Dangerous Situation in My Home?

8/22/2022 (Permalink)

It's always storm season in Florida. But no worries! SERVPRO is always available.

By Responding Quickly, Our Team Can Extract Water, Clean Surfaces, and Dry Up Flooding to Protect Your Coral Springs Home

There is considerable misinformation that circulates when entire communities suffer flood losses. In some situations, unknown companies pop up as restoration experts offering rates that seem too good to be true and want money upfront for work that never happens. When disasters damage your home, you want reliability, experience, and a fast response that can help you manage it.

Flood recovery for Coral Springs homes begins with understanding that these loss incidents can be hazardous to those without the appropriate personal protective equipment and knowledge to undertake the work safely. From muck-out cleaning and recovery to decontamination and disinfection of affected surfaces and contents, our SERVPRO professionals can ideally manage the widespread flood effects before the situation gets out of control.

What Are the Immediate Concerns in Flooding Situations?

It is vital to take note of the immediate concerns in your home following a flood. You might not have the experience that our SERVPRO team does, but you can still appreciate threats to your family and the structure. Standing water is one of these damaging contributing factors, as movement from the penetration point throughout the property can affect new materials and contents and become increasingly more challenging to restore. Here are some of the immediate threats that flooding can present to your home and its occupants:

  • Migrating Water - Migrating water can be one of the most significant obstacles our responding technicians must overcome when approaching flood loss recovery. While standing water and moisture damage where water penetrated the house can be challenging enough to overcome, the spread of these effects must get meticulously tracked and thoroughly addressed.
  • Structural Damage - In situations where flooding results from storm damage, structural compromise is likely. We can respond to this threat with controlled demolition practices and temporary construction solutions that prevent the flooding from worsening.
  • Contamination - Natural flooding in your home can welcome mud, debris, and potential contaminants. It is always the practice of our experienced professionals to consider every situation where natural flooding has occurred as a potentially contaminated environment.
  • Content Damage - Personal belongings are one of the things that make your house a home and are also one of the first items affected by penetrating water standing in the living spaces of your property. We have on-site restoration solutions and pack-out procedures that can restore damaged and soiled belongings at our SERVPRO facility.

How Do Professionals Address Standing Floodwater?

Standing water is one of the unfortunate staples of many flooding situations and can be the challenge that must get addressed before other mitigation solutions can begin. The choice of what machines and devices play a role in water removal changes based on the depth of standing water, its location, and whether it is a clean-water incident or not. Some of the most common post-flood water removal tools we use are:

  • Gas-Powered Trash Pumps - These submersible pumps can remove high volumes of standing water, even with the potential threats of debris and solids present. The fact that it runs on fuel can also be beneficial in situations where portable power could be challenging.
  • Truck-Mount Pumps - The pumps hooked to extractor trucks in our SERVPRO Green Fleet are our technicians' most potent removal tools. With an extraction rate of 300 psi, we can quickly reduce standing water in open areas of the house.
  • Wet-Vacuums - While we do not look to vacuums for high water volume removal, they are ideal for less accessible spaces and to run multiple attachments and wands.

Can I Dry Up Flooding on My Own?

It is a common belief that flooding might not be as bad as it seems. However, without sophisticated moisture detection tools and thermal imagery solutions, you might not even know about the migration of water damage and all the affected areas and materials in your home. Failing to address moisture concerns can lead to the development of microbial colonies. We have cutting-edge tools and equipment that can help through every phase of mitigation and recovery after a flood, including:

  • Air Movers
  • Dehumidifiers
  • Carpet Wands
  • Weighted Extractors
  • Positive Pressure Systems
  • Controlled Demolition

It is advisable to move quickly on flood damage and make smart decisions based on your knowledge or research of reputable restoration professionals. Give our SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland team a call to help however you might need after a disaster at (954) 973-4130.

Should Professionals Handle Mold Removal in Coral Springs?

8/22/2022 (Permalink)

It doesn't take long for mold to grow. Look for signs of water damage often, and call SERVPRO to remediate any mold damage.

Adhering to EPA Mold Remediation is Why SERVPRO Delivers Results

Finding mold in your Coral Springs home can be a problematic experience. You might feel embarrassed because you think the microbial outbreak is a commentary on your housekeeping. Trying to cope with a mold outbreak without training, experience, and equipment can worsen the situation.

What Process Does SERVPRO Do When Responding to a Mold Concern?

Coral Springs mold removal tactics that deliver the best results use research-based protocols. SERVPRO follows the EPA recommendations and the mold remediation industry's standards. Remediation is the EPA's term, as the complete elimination of mold and spores is impossible. Our IICRC trained team remove active mold growth and institute mold-inhibition interventions as follows:

  • Locate the mold (only testing if indicated as it is usually apparent where the mold grows)
  • Contain the affected area with 1.6 polyethylene and often the use of negative pressure, HEPA-filtered air scrubber
  • Remove the mold colonies with scrapers, brushes, and blasting of porous materials with soda or dry ice (blasting removes surface growth and incapacitates embedded hyphae)
  • Clean surfaces of moldy debris with HEPA-filtered vacuums
  • Bag moldy materials and dispose of according to local regulations as hazardous waste
  • Apply EPA-registered antimicrobials by broadcast or surface spraying
  • Arranging for the elimination of the moisture source that feeds the mold spores

Mold remediation results that make a difference are why SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland should be your first call at (954) 973-4130. Contact us for an evaluation and mold colony removal plan.

Fast Extraction for Your Coral Springs New Construction Project

New construction projects for plaza businesses happen in phases, and once water services connect to the new Coral Springs structure, it becomes susceptible to damage. Among the biggest conceivable threats to new construction projects are those who want to sabotage construction progress or cause property damage by sneaking onto the job site after hours. Turning on faucets and valves can flood areas of the new building.

As you might expect, one of the priorities after discovering this damage is to secure water removal for the Coral Springs job site as quickly as possible. The first 48 hours after a water loss incident are the most critical. The proper response and drying of the damage can reduce the likelihood of microbial threats, structural deterioration, or the need for controlled demolition and build back of the already newly installed materials.

Depending on the severity of the water damage, our SERVPRO team has multiple options for extraction. With several inches or even feet of standing clean water, using portable sump pumps, trash pumps, and even our truck-mount extractors can help with continual and high-efficiency removals. Our fast extraction of the standing water can lead to our light wand usage for the final touches on water removal and, ultimately, rapid drying efforts.

We have a licensed team of commercial contractors (#CBC1261730) that can help remove overly saturated plywood, drywall, and wood framing. While you might already have a construction team on-site, our professionals can help as needed and install temporary fencing in areas where it is lacking to discourage intruders from making their way onto the job site again in the future.

Because of how an incident like this can set back your deadlines, our SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland team can work around the clock to get you back on schedule. Give our team of professionals a call 24/7 at (954) 973-4130 to make water losses “Like it never even happened.”

Fire Damage to Structures, Contents, and Odors Leaving Your Coral Springs Home in a Disarray? SERVPRO Provides Professional Services for Fire Losses

Dealing with the Challenges of Fire Damage Mitigation in Coral Springs Homes

Fire damage can overwhelm you as you try to deal with insurance while taking care of your family. Thankfully, the fire damage restoration experts at SERVPRO can help. We have the training and high-tech equipment to overcome fire loss challenges. Depending on what caused the fire, the nature of the materials burned, and the extent of combustion, different residues and contaminants can be released throughout your home and absorbed into its porous contents.

The contaminant residues in your fire damaged Coral Springs home may include char, soot, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), and ash. A quick response is key to preventing additional damage to your property and restoring it to its original condition. There are challenges involved in restoring a fire-damaged home, but our technicians can deal with them effectively.

Smoke Odors

The smoke produced during the fire can get into your infrastructure, plumbing, and walls. Smoke turns into soot that can cause discoloration of affected surfaces. Smoke can leave unpleasant odors. Our highly trained technicians can identify different smoke scents. We can use specific cleaning solutions to remove the smells and water-based odor counteractants to remove the odors. Our team can add the odor counteract to cleaning solutions to control smoke odors. Water-based deodorizers work at various pH extremes and temperatures to neutralize a majority of malodors, replacing them with a pleasant scent.

Water Damage

Firefighters may have pumped a lot of water to extinguish the fire on your property. Although the water helped save your residence, it could have damaged different strictures and contents in your house. Mold grows quickly and has the potential to cause an unhealthy environment. Our team can remove any standing water using pumps or wet/dry vacuum cleaners. We can also use air movers and dehumidifiers to dry your home completely.

Choosing the Right Cleaning Products

Our intensive fire damage restoration training enables us to select the correct cleaning products for different surfaces, such as water-based or non-water-based cleaners (dry or petroleum-based). For instance, we avoid using water-based cleaners when washing plaster walls because they are insufficient. Similarly, when cleaning chrome fittings, glazed surfaces, and porcelain finishes, we avoid using abrasive cleaners because they can cause these surfaces to become dull. To determine the right cleaning products and processes, we identify the residues produced during the fire and then restore the affected surfaces properly. Pre-testing surfaces and fibers are crucial to successfully remove soiling without damaging the material.

Encapsulation of Scents

Some scorched surfaces of your home could be inaccessible. We know that odors can remain on such surfaces even after we have used other deodorization procedures. To deal with such odors, it is necessary to seal the surfaces. Our SERVPRO crew can seal them off using chemical sealers to encapsulate the odors.

SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland has expertise in fire damage mitigation and can handle your fire loss to make it "Like it never even happened." Call us at (954) 973-4130 for immediate help.

Our Experts Discuss Should You Restore Your Coral Springs Home After A Water Damage Incident?

Should I Really Restore my Own Home In Coral Springs After Water Damage?

Whether you're a homeowner or a renter, it is up to you to keep up your home. To this end, you probably take great care in changing your A/C filter periodically, ensuring your landscaping is not overgrown, and repairing any broken appliances. However, even the most diligent of homeowners are vulnerable to a broken pipe in a bathroom or kitchen. A bit of bad luck is enough to allow water to cover your floors and soak into your cabinets, leaving you needing a professional service to restore the water damage. As much as you would like to attempt the repair yourself, by doing so, you could be exacerbating the need for future fixes, which is why it is best to call an experienced team.

If this story of water damage applies to your Coral Springs home, you are not alone. SERVPRO is available 24/7 to become your greatest ally in eliminating all traces of water from your bathroom or kitchen. Contact us and let our team get to work. Until we arrive, you can assist the water removal process by soaking up as much water as you can with towels and promoting air circulation in the affected area. Once we are at your home, we can support your efforts with industry-grade air movers and extractors that help speed up the process.

The expertise of our SERVPRO water restoration technicians (WRT) guides them to look into hard-to-reach places to evaluate the damage. For example, the back of a kitchen or bathroom cabinet may show excess moisture even when the rest of the area looks like it is already dry. To dry behind the cabinet, we may carefully remove the toe kick and drill small holes into it to allow the passage of air underneath the cabinet. The toe kick itself may receive treatment to prevent the growth of bacteria before being put back on and subsequently covered with the original molding. Most people outside the industry don't know enough about drying to attempt this restoration step, but at SERVPRO, it is part of our routine assessment.

SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland is your resource regardless of the size of your water damage. Our main goal is to minimize the leak's impact now and in the future, and our expertise allows us to succeed. Call us at (954) 973-4130 and let us leave your home "Like it never even happened."

  • Leaking pipes, roofs, and windows that allow water to collect and mold to grow undetected
  • Condensation in places like HVAC vents and ducts increases humidity and invites mold to grow while feeding off the drywall and other building materials.
  • In Florida, copious rains that saturate the ground under your house can also create an excellent environment for mold to prosper if there isn’t suitable drainage.

Professional Water Damage Cleanup is a Must for a Coral Springs Businesses

6/29/2022 (Permalink)

Our SERVPRO technicians know what to do for your Coral Springs water damage.

Your Coral Springs business needs our technicians for water damage

Many Coral Springs businesses lean on their in-house cleaning staff to manage water losses. Since the personnel is already in place, it seems sensible to shift to them the burden of cleanup. This strategy often results in unintended consequences, including a failure to remove the water entirely and quickly enough to avoid secondary damage because of their limited training and experience in water mitigation and remediation. Mold growth and progressive damage to structural components and contents are potential outcomes.

Water Removal and Structural Drying Have Specific Protocols

When water damages your Coral Springs office building after a plumbing leak, experts with rigorous training in the science of its thorough removal and efficient drying must respond. Our crew members master a comprehensive course developed by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) and have extensive on-the-job experience before arriving to help at your site. Our investment in state-of-the-art water removal and structural drying equipment supports our team’s efforts to your benefit.

Advanced Tools and Techniques Monitor Water Migration

If the water in your office suite remained in a contained space, cleanup would be more straightforward and limited to water your eyes see. Instead, water migrates, spreading even after the source is discovered and shut down. During SERVPRO’s initial assessment of the water damage, our technicians used infrared cameras to locate water that seeped into and is now trapped in building cavities. We employ sensitive moisture detectors and hygrometers to help us plot a map of the full extent of moisture saturation.

Our Scalable Workforce Supports Speed

Commercial water damage remediation is a challenge because of the large spaces affected. SERVPRO has access to scalable resources to manage substantial water damage swiftly. If moisture lingers in your office space longer than 24 to 48 hours, mold grows, and building materials crumble, rust and warp. We can deploy multiple crews and sufficient equipment to attend to your specific needs quickly and thoroughly.

SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland is always preparing for significant commercial losses, unfazed by the square footage involved or the severity of the damage. Call us at (954) 973-4130. We’re Faster To Any Size Disaster.

Our Technicians Discuss Problems To Expect After A Flood In Your Coral Springs Home

6/29/2022 (Permalink)

Flooding can cause a myriad of problems in your property.

Problems To Expect After Flood Damage In Your Coral Springs Property

Among the different types of losses that can affect your property, flooding is the hardest to control since, in most cases, such an incident results from a severe weather event affecting broad areas. When flooding affects your Coral Springs property, it is good to be prepared to deal with many problems. Being prepared can help you cope with the loss and work smoothly with the professionals you hire.

Throwing Valuables Away

One problem you should expect after flood damage in your Coral Springs property is the need to dispose of items that you might believe to be in perfect physical condition. Cases involving groundwater are the worst because such water contains contaminants. You have to throw away carpets, pads, upholstery items, and other contents exposed to contaminants. Our SERVPRO technicians can help clean high valued rugs and collectibles.

Water in Concealed Areas

As the floodwater flows unhindered through your property, some of it might reach concealed areas. Drying such areas is challenging, and leaving the water untouched can lead to severe problems such as mold infestations. Common areas that can present this challenge include wall cavities, subfloors, and walls concealed by cabinets, among others. Removing such water might require demolition or the use of specialized equipment. Our SERVPRO technicians can use Injectidry systems and drying mats to remove water from concealed areas. We handle any necessary demolition, whether making flood cuts or punching vent holes. We also rebuild and refinish the affected areas eliminating traces of the damage “Like it never even happened.”

Damaged Electronics and Electrical Systems

If the water rises to higher levels, it can reach electrical outlets in other cases, such as when strong winds tear-off part of the roof, the water may flow into the house from an elevated point, thus affecting electrical systems and electronic items. Water damage in electronics might not be visible, so you should not operate any electronic item before they are checked by a professional.

Flooding can cause a myriad of problems on your property. Call SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland to help you fix them. You can reach us any time at (954) 973-4130.

Expert Mold Removal for Commercial Spaces in Coral Springs

We help local businesses with microbial infestation, mold removal, and mold remediation.

SERVPRO Technicians in Coral Springs are Trained in Mold Remediation

Mold is a type of microorganism that can pollute indoor environments. As a premises manager, staying on top of potential microbial infestation is at the forefront of your concern. A mold outbreak can delay business output by forcing some or all premises to be temporarily closed. We are a fast-acting team of remediation technicians that can help restore your business premises.

You may need commercial mold removal services in Coral Springs if you notice any symptoms of microbial growth. These symptoms are commonly linked to musty smells or visible growth that appears on surfaces. In this industry, remediation is the process of preventing mold from growing back, whereas removal is the demolishing of infested materials. In most commercial premises, both these activities must occur to return the premises to a usable condition. Microbial infestation can exponentially grow if given enough time, so we recommend that you reach out for professional remediation services at the first sign of damage. We help local businesses with:

  • Microbial infestation
  • Mold removal
  • Mold remediation

Microbes need very little light to grow, which means a musty odor or visible infestation can often be the tip of the iceberg. Common areas where mold spreads are underneath carpet laminate, pad, or subfloor. Acoustic tiles can support microbial growth, while ductwork inside air conditioning units can also be standard for microbial buildup. Some materials, such as sheet metal, can be easily cleaned using chemical or abrasive cleaning equipment. Other materials, such as textiles, which are naturally porous, may need to be removed and destroyed to avoid infestation. SERVPRO’s IICRC trained team can professionally reinstall any non-salvageable materials on your business premises.

  • Microbes feed off organic matter, which they convert into energy for growth. This matter can include carpets, acoustic tiles, drywall, or dirt.
  • Resilient molds can grow in almost any temperature, but most strains thrive between 68 and 96 Fahrenheit.
  • It is vital to maintain an indoor relative humidity level below 60% to reduce mold growth in a business
  • . This humidity can be achieved with dehumidification or air conditioning.

If your business is infested with microbial organisms, contact SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland for commercial mold removal at (954) 973-4130.

Let us Get that Soot Out of Your Coral Springs Kitchen

Soot and smoke residues can be among the most challenging symptoms to overcome after a fire occurs in Coral Springs homes. Even with some experience in fire recovery and soot removal, many homeowners lack the advanced training and cutting-edge equipment available to our restoration specialists to better protect your property and possessions. Approaching the cleaning of surfaces like countertops can be especially risky without the proper technique and equipment, which can often lead to staining and smearing that can become impossible to remedy.

Kitchen flare-ups can be a conventional catalyst to fire damage in Coral Springs homes, and they can often keep the conditions and effects concentrated in this highly trafficked area of your house. Our SERVPRO professionals must assess the scope of the damage with our initial arrival, working quickly to determine how difficult the situation is and the best approaches to restore individual symptoms. Soot and smoke residue removal is a scenario our experienced professionals get trained to handle. We arrive with a full array of cleaning products, tools, and machines to efficiently manage the situation.

We have several approaches for eliminating the presence of soot residues on countertops, which usually begins with vacuuming loose particulates from the surface with a high-powered vacuum. Our SERVPRO team can then utilize chemical sponges, either wet or dry depending on the situation, in deliberate and skilled swipes to eliminate soot on the surface.

Our technicians can implement machines for abrasive cleaning techniques like media and soda blasting for more challenging materials. These approaches can fully eradicate the presence of soot but do not damage the substrate in the process. This process is used to eliminate mold colonies and protect hosting materials in homes and businesses.

Particular countertops get made of premium materials that can be very costly to replace. Our SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland professionals have the right equipment and expertise to address these effects wherever they get found and make the fire loss event “Like it never even happened.” Give us a call anytime at (954) 973-4130.

Principles Of Water Damage Restoration in Coral Springs

When your Coral Springs home suffers a water loss, the cause is less important than the response. Dramatic events like storms or floods are far less likely than a leaky pipe or a malfunctioning household appliance. No matter the route water took to get into your home, we systematically work to remove it and dry out the wet structural components. Following industry best practices developed by the international standard-setting Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) ensures success.

Expect our crew leader to perform an individualized assessment of the water damage done in your Coral Springs home. We pride ourselves on a thorough evaluation of your scenario and adapt our response to the particular circumstances of your emergency. Our IICRC-trained technicians carefully consider the water we see and the moisture that migrated away from the initially affected area.

SERVPRO service vehicles stock multiple submersible pumps, wanded extractors, air movers, heaters, and dehumidifiers to accomplish water removal and structural drying. We also have moisture meters and thermal imaging devices to assist as we map out the accurate dimensions of the water infiltration in your home.

We remove both visible and hidden standing water with pumps or extractors. If needed, we perform controlled demolition such as flood cuts or drilled holes to access trapped moisture and enhance our drying equipment's effect in confined spaces. Only when the SERVPRO crew is satisfied that no liquid water remains do we switch the focus to Applied Structural Drying (ASD).

This discipline shortens drying times and makes it much less likely that progressive deterioration and secondary damage such as mold damage occurs. Our ASD-certified technicians deploy air movers, dehumidifiers, and other drying equipment per your personalized drying plan. We monitor moisture and temperature using sensitive devices, controlling the relative humidity RH and specific humidity (SH) to create an optimal environment for efficient drying.

Depend on SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland to manage your water damage emergency professionally. Call us at (954) 973-4130 to begin the process as soon as possible for the best outcome.

Rely on SERVPRO to extract any floodwater in your Coral Springs home; and then a beautiful build back or remodel, "Like it never even happened."

Coral Springs Water Damage Solutions

When your Coral Springs home faces exposure to significant water incursion, you need to arrange for the fast and thorough evacuation of the fluids. Water is a surprisingly corrosive substance capable of causing substantial damage to both structural components and the contents of your dwelling in a matter of hours. Our Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC)-trained managers and technicians bring the requisite knowledge, experience, and equipment to mitigate and remediate the water damage.

Damage Assessment and Project Planning

A seasoned project manager evaluates the damage and develops a plan for rapid water removal in your Coral Springs dwelling. We visually inspect the affected area and use specialized devices to help trace water migration from the initial loss site. Water can percolate through several flooring layers and seep into cavities behind walls, below floors, and above ceilings. Instruments like thermal imaging cameras and moisture detectors help us locate trapped water and determine the spread of moisture absorbed into building materials and fixtures.

We Prepare to Avoid Work Delays

Once we assess the site, our Water Damage Restoration Technicians (WRT) can begin water removal immediately because we stock all needed equipment on our signature green vehicles. Submersible pumps carry water deeper than two inches away while wanded, truck-mounted extractors and squeegees suction fluids off surfaces and from floor coverings. SERVPRO knows the more liquid we extract, the more efficient structural drying strategies can be.

Do Not Fear Controlled Demolition

To gain access to hidden water and damp building, cavities SERVPRO uses techniques like weep holes and flood cuts. Careful punching of drainage holes releases water in ceilings or behind bubbling paint. We often choose to cut soaked drywall several inches above the water line to remove it for more thorough extraction and to permit warm, moving air to begin the structural drying process. After water removal and drying, we arrange for repair, replacement, and rebuilding of partially removed or damaged structures.

Water Removal Includes the Drying Protocol

Excess moisture provides a perfect growing environment for mold, so SERVPRO must bring structural and ambient moisture levels to normal. Our Applied Structural Drying (ASD) crew positions commercial air movers and adjusts temperatures to move water from building materials to the air as vapor. High-efficiency dehumidifiers capture and condense or absorb the moisture for disposal.

SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland offers a highly qualified team of water removal experts to members of our community. Call (954) 973-4130 for an assessment, water removal plan, and implementation 24/7.

Can Floodwater Removal Save Coral Springs Homes?

Water damage from groundwater is one of the single most devastating disasters a home can have. It is filthy, sludgy, often smelly water, and even half an inch has the potential to leave the house destroyed.

Floodwater removal from Coral Springs homes takes place in different ways, depending on the amount of water. SERVPRO technicians have access to a diverse array of water extraction and drying equipment to ensure the home is clean, disinfected, and ready for any repairs or rebuilding.

Fastest Extraction Methods

Safely removing groundwater is a priority. SERVPRO technicians test the floodwater to determine the nature of any contaminants and the presence of bacteria or sewage. Different kinds of contaminants require various cleaning applications for a successful outcome. Technicians use portable pumps on smaller-scale water loss cleanups, while for large-size house floods, truck-mounted trash pumps make short work of water, sludge, and debris removal.

Avoiding Mold Growth

Airborne mold spores remain present both inside and outside of Florida homes. When they encounter the highly humid ambient conditions inside properties with flood damage, they have the potential to germinate and infest the premises quickly. The technicians have training and certification in mold remediation #MRSR2994 and know the early warning signs to stop mold colonies before they set up in the property.

Flood Damage Usually Looks Worse Before Getting Better

Because of the way sheetrock wicks moisture, it often requires cutting away using a method known as flood cuts using controlled demolition. This action fully opens wall cavities for complete drying, Due to the contaminated nature of black water; unfortunately, most porous items such as carpet and padding have no restoration potential and require disposal.

Less Stress for Repairs and Rebuilding

SERVPRO has a general contractor license #CBC1261730 and offers homeowners both restoration and reconstruction services. Since the technicians carefully document each action during mitigation, they already know the areas that require rebuilding. Plus, homeowners do not have to spend time finding and verifying outside contractors to do any necessary repairs. We can coordinate rebuilds and remodels with you and your insurance carrier for a more simplified and stress-free experience.

SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland at (954) 973-4130 stands ready to assist local properties with any floodwater removal needs. The technicians show up quickly and leave the property, "Like it never even happened."

Cleaning Up Fire Damage Suppression in Coral Springs Offices

3/21/2022 (Permalink)

Large or small fire damaged buildings in Coral Springs can be cleaned up, restored, and repaired by SERVPRO

Post-Fire Damage Cleanup of Suppression Methods Is Vital for Coral Springs Businesses

When a fire forms in your office building, extinguishment is the priority. Often, however, this suppression approach can leave damage of its own that must be cleaned and restored along with the effects of a fire.

Determining the Affected Area

Knowing how fire damage in Coral Springs office buildings occurred and what areas were affected is a good starting point to direct responding restorers to recovery priorities. Even with a fire that is rapidly extinguished and stopped in the office, residual damage results from the chemicals used in extinguishers or the needed water. Our SERVPRO team can help with important content management upon arrival like:

Fire Extinguisher Residues

Your office building likely has multiple fire extinguishing units installed on the walls and in designated areas throughout the property. When a fire starts in a breakroom or on the main floor of the office, these can help to put out the blaze quickly. Our team helps to clean up the thick dry chemical residues left behind by the potassium bicarbonate and sodium bicarbonate used in the solution before their corrosive properties cause greater damage.

Water Damage

Another form of suppression common in putting out larger structure fires is the use of high volumes of water. Damages resulting from pooling and standing water are often avoidable with fast action from our SERVPRO team. We have effective extractors and drying tools to manage these threats.

Cleaning Up Lingering Fire Damage

Fire damage can exist in many forms throughout the structure, even after the fire is extinguished. Beyond removing the remnants of suppression approaches, we must also address soot, smoke damage, structural weakness, and malodors that might keep your office from getting back to normal operations.

After a fire, our SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland team shows We’re Faster To Any Size Disaster when you call (954) 973-4130.

The Challenges Posed by water damage repair in Coral Springs facilities

2/1/2022 (Permalink)

Our SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland rapid response team is available 24/7!

Overcoming Water Damage at Your Coral Springs Home Is Easier With Assistance From SERVPRO

Water intrusion is not just an inconvenience that forces you to close down operations or work on additional cleaning tasks. It also leaves various damages which you must address to restore normalcy or prevent deterioration of fixtures at your Coral Springs property.

Completing water damage repair at your Coral Springs home may be more challenging than you expect. Most issues only become apparent after starting the restoration processes unless you have significant experience handling such tasks as SERVPRO does.

Various Items at Your Property Need Attention After Water Damage, Including:

  • Structural materials
  • Appliances
  • Furniture

Although this may seem routine, challenges arise when the effort needed is beyond what you expect. For example, when dealing with structural materials, you might only anticipate water absorption, which is readily addressed through extraction and drying. However, elaborate repair processes may be necessary if physical changes have occurred. On the other hand, appliances may seem fine, only for problems to manifest later on. SERVPRO teams help identify and resolve the challenges.

Some Specific Challenges Common After Water Damage Include:

  • The need to demolish first before restoration
  • The need to move many or heavy items
  • Choosing the right cleaning product

Demolition may seem like creating more damages or soiling unnecessary areas. However, it is impossible to address all aspects of water damage without a teardown. For instance, the water trapped in walls and other cavities would remain in the structure. Since our SERVPRO technicians use controlled demolition procedures such as drilling weep holes or making flood cuts, damage levels and soiling are minimal.

As you strive to remove soils, other problems like bad odor and staining or corrosion of materials might develop. The correct choice of cleaning products can prevent such issues. For instance, our SERVPRO teams use phosphate-free cleaning with zero VOCs, thus dealing with soiling without corroding or causing stains and strong odor issues.

SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland can help you tackle any water damage repair challenge at your premises. You can reach us at (954) 973-4130. We're Faster To Any Size Disaster.

The Problems Water Damage Mitigation Prevents in Parkland Homes

2/1/2022 (Permalink)

Let your local SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland professionals resolve your water damage problems.

SERVPRO Delivers Timely Water Restoration Services in Parkland Properties

If there is a leaking pipe or appliance at your Parkland property, then you are already in trouble. However, you can take action to limit the problems triggered by the intruding water. Such intervention is known as water damage mitigation.

The type of actions needed during water damage mitigation at your Parkland home varies depending on the factors surrounding the incident, such as the amount of water spilled or whether the source is clean or not. The advantage of involving SERVPRO is that our teams are well versed with all types of damage and can therefore take action to limit the problems you face.

Mitigation Can Help Take Care of:

  • Inconveniences like relocating from the house
  • Mold contamination
  • Unchecked deterioration of structural materials

With the increased humidity, slick surfaces, and electrical hazards, staying in a house after water intrusion can be inconvenient. Timely mitigation helps manage the problems so that you do not have to relocate. It also prevents severe structural damages such as rotting, warping, or mold development.

Effective Water Damage Mitigation Requires:

  • Understanding the extent of water damage
  • Choosing the most effective approaches
  • Using specialized restoration equipment

Extended water exposure is detrimental to many structural materials since it causes rust, swelling, dyes running, stains, and many other issues. Such damage is not limited only to areas with direct water contact, such as floors. Moisture also reaches concealed areas like wall cavities and cabinets. It also affects materials in elevated areas such as ceilings, especially with hygroscopic properties.

Different strategies help ensure the mitigation steps taken address all issues. For instance, our SERVPRO technicians use various moisture detection tools, including thermo-hygrometers, thermal cameras, and moisture meters to probe the level of moisture migration. We also evaluate restoration actions to determine what is more effective. For instance, extraction is 1200 times faster than other actions such as dehumidification.

SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland uses water damage mitigation approaches that limit the problems you have to address. Call us at (954) 973-4130. We're Faster To Any Size Disaster.

How Fire Restoration Curtails Escalation of Damages in Coral Springs Homes

2/1/2022 (Permalink)

We aim to restore your property as quickly as possible, “Like it never even happened.”

SERVPRO’s Highly Trained Technicians Help Coral Spring Homeowners Limit Damage

Fire is highly destructive and takes only a few minutes to damage most items and materials. If the fire at your Coral Springs home burns for hours, the likelihood of salvaging anything is minimal. Even when a fire is put out before it consumes your Coral Springs property entirely, damages can still escalate later on, leading to high restoration costs or disposal of more materials.

Before taking any steps towards fire restoration at your Coral Springs home, it is essential to establish any factors that might escalate the damage beyond acceptable levels. That is why our SERVPRO technicians start restoration by evaluating the entire property. Evaluation can be simple such as wiping a cleaning sponge on surfaces to check for residue deposits or using a tool like a char gauge to check whether materials are structurally sound.

Some of The Common Factors Leading to Escalation of Fire Damage Include:

  • Weather elements penetrating the structure
  • Moisture left in the building after fire fighting
  • Fire residues reacting with materials

After fire incidents, your house might have openings such as shattered windows or roof cave-ins that allow rainwater and sunlight. Any contents or materials left undamaged by the fire are vulnerable to such exposure since indoor-use materials cannot withstand the weather elements. Even when the roof and walls are not compromised, the soot left in the structure is equally destructive.

Some of the Actions That Can Curtail Such Escalation Include

  • Quick response
  • Structure protection
  • Stripping off unsalvageable materials

A timely response is the most crucial element in limiting the destruction after a fire incident. It is possible to set up structural protections such as roof tarps to keep weather elements out and pre-clean to remove soot residues from vulnerable areas such as chrome or stone surfaces. SERVPRO has a response standard referred to as 1-4-8, which means that we call the customer with an hour of notification about the loss and send a team to the site within four hours. In 8 working hours, we provide a full scope of the restoration work needed.

SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland ensures fire damage restoration services limit unnecessary secondary issues. Call us at (954) 973-4130. We’re Faster To Any Size Disaster.

Is Mold Possible After Storm Damage to Coral Springs Homes?

1/13/2022 (Permalink)

Mold damage presents in many colors and grows very fast. Call SERVPRO at the first sight. We are standing by 24/7 for your emergency call.

Persistent Moisture Can Cause Mold Damage to Coral Springs Properties

Storms are not uncommon to Coral Springs and the surrounding areas when water infiltrates your home or confined spaces like the attic, restorers, and remediators of our SERVPRO teamwork to resolve these issues fast.

Lingering Moisture Could be a Threat

Post-storm effects can ultimately cause mold damage to Coral Springs homes when moist conditions go unresolved. Not only does this dampness pose a structural integrity risk of its own, but persistent moisture is required to develop mold colonies.

The Rapid Expanse of Mold Organisms

One of the alarming traits of active growth is how rapidly mold organisms can spread throughout a property. With many types of sensitive materials, from sheetrock to wood framing, there are considerable damages these intruding organisms can cause. Once the mold is visible, it is likely to exist on nearby surfaces you cannot see as well.

Effective Remediation of Confined Spaces

Our SERVPRO team needs to act fast to do more than clean up after storm damage to the house. When mold is believed to exist, remediation work must begin quickly to prevent the spread of harmful organisms, especially in confined spaces. Some of these approaches include:

  • Surface Cleaning with Products – The first possible step for removing active mold colonies is surface cleaning using biocides and sporicidal products.
  • Abrasive Mechanical Actions – It is possible to clear out mold without destroying the underlying substrate using mechanical actions to eliminate seated colonies like sanding and steel wool.
  • Aggressive Removal Measures – When less severe mold removal tactics have been attempted without success, the most aggressive of our attempts, like media blasting or controlled demolition, are necessary.

Mold can be an underestimated yet highly destructive situation for homes. Considering the conditions that facilitate this growth, structural compromise exists to specific hosting materials. Our SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland remediators works fast to protect your property and contents from avoidable damage. Call (954) 973-4130.

Common Approaches to Remove Smoke Odors from Parkland Homes

1/7/2022 (Permalink)

Fire damage can be quite overwhelming when it happens in your home. Call SERVPRO right away after an event.

Overcoming Smoke Damage in Parkland Properties Means Cleanup and Deodorization.

Fires are a devastating situation for homes or businesses. Depending on how quickly first responders arrive, the damage can be widespread and still linger in the form of smoke odors even after much of the cleanup has started.

Initial Measures to Reduce Smoke Odors

While odors are one of the last considered obstacles of smoke and fire damage in Parkland homes, it is a significant roadblock in returning a property to preloss condition. Initially, some deodorization processes can be resolved with emergency services like debris and ruined content removal.

Counteractant Products and Equipment

Reducing the severity of present odors is one of the first objectives for malodor management in a house. Some of the approaches we use include:

  • Thermal Fogging – This equipment reacts directly with trapped odors and free-floating compounds with strong deodorizing products in a vapor form.
  • Odor-Absorbing Beads – Placing absorbent granules and beads at airflow intersections and critical points can help reduce the presence of harsh odors.
  • Filtration – Yet another possibility to lessen the impact and force of harsh smells after a fire is filtering contaminants and debris in the environment with air quality equipment.

Full Deodorization Options

After our SERVPRO team has taken whatever possible steps to reduce the severity of the present malodors, neutralization is attempted. At this phase, we have two main approaches: to rely on dual-purpose equipment like hydroxyl generators or more aggressive deodorization like ozone machines.

Considering the rapidly compromising effects of fire and smoke damage on residences and businesses of the area, it is important to have an experienced team of professionals ready and willing to help. Many rely on our SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland team to provide mitigation and recovery solutions "Like it never even happened." Call now at (954) 973-4130.

Removing Fire Suppression Residues from Coral Springs Offices

12/29/2021 (Permalink)

Fires can happen without warning and you are going to need a company to come in and take care of the damage. Call SERVPRO for fire damage remediation.

Many Surfaces Can be Damaged by Fire Extinguishment Methods in Coral Springs Properties.

After a fire, open office buildings can suffer substantially from the spread of fire damage effects and the lingering residues and deposits of extinguishment and suppression systems. As fast as properties can become overwhelmed by these effects, it is vital to have professional restoration technicians mobilize quickly to get mitigation and recovery started.

The Effects of Soot and Smoke Damage

Fire damage restoration for Coral Springs office buildings requires an understanding of the behaviors of smoke damage and what to expect for post-fire recovery and cleanup. Soot and smoke damage spread quickly, and when combined with residues or effects of extinguishment methods, several areas could be heavily damaged like:

  • Electronics
  • Furniture
  • Carpeting
  • Wall Systems
  • Artwork

Fire Extinguisher Residues

Sodium and potassium bicarbonates are both common types of extinguishment compounds and require specific cleaning products and practices to remove. Ammonia-based products can allow for wipe cleaning on these chemical compounds after loose debris is managed with vacuuming or brushing.

Water Damage from Sprinkler Systems

Sprinkler systems are common installations to attempt to quell a spreading fire quickly. While only the affected areas have sprinkler heads activated, each installed point can generate 20-40 gallons of water per minute. Because these mechanisms require manual shutdown, offices can be overwhelmed with water damage as well as fire damage. We have effective extraction and drying equipment to manage these conditions where necessary.

While you can appreciate the immense assistance provided by extinguishment and suppression systems during a fire, there are residues and films left behind. Our SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland team can help with efficient surface cleaning and restoration. Call our experienced team today at (954) 973-4130.

The Education of Experienced Water Damage Restorers for Parkland Homes

12/13/2021 (Permalink)

From leaking pipes to malfunction appliances, SERVPRO can handle any scope of water damage restoration.

Our SERVPRO Team has Extensive Restoration and Recovery Training to Help Damaged Parkland Properties

When disasters like burst pipes or flooding impact an area home, you want fast and reliable responses from competent professionals. Our SERVPRO team has the experience and extensive training through respected firms like the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) to help your home when it needs it.

The Application of Psychrometry

Water restoration companies for Parkland might be plentiful but do not have the dedication to the education and training of their personnel like our SERVPRO team does. Our instruction begins with a base understanding of psychrometry, the science of thermodynamics in moist environments. This training and knowledge help to steer hundreds of drying decisions in real-time for damaged properties.

Experience That Continually Grows

There is no educator, like hands-on experience. With years of serving Coral Springs and Parkland, we have a team of professionals that has become increasingly more confident in managing water loss situations and flooding.

Drying Principles for Structure and Content Recovery

Another point of experience our technicians' show is their understanding of how moisture moves in an environment. By knowing these principles, air movers, dehumidifiers, and other drying equipment can be appropriately placed to have the most significant impact on the property. As a property seeks an equilibrium of pressure, moisture content, and temperature, these principles aid in drying:

  • Wet goes to dry
  • Warm goes to cold
  • High pressure goes to low pressure

Having skilled professionals capable of managing the physical aspects of restoration and recovery is a vital step towards helping your home recover after a damaging incident. We also ensure that our technicians have extensive knowledge of drying principles and sciences to choose the ideal drying and recovery solution that is most efficient. Our SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland team is ready 24/7 to help at (954) 973-4130.

Effective Content Cleaning After Flood Damage in Coral Springs

12/6/2021 (Permalink)

We understand the importance of preserving your personal belongings and keepsakes after flood damage.

Flooding can Leave Contents and Belongings in Coral Springs Homes Exposed to Possible Contaminants

When flooding threatens your home, you need fast and deliberate action to help. Our SERVPRO team understands this urgency and mobilizes quickly with extraction tools and skilled personnel to evaluate the conditions of impacted items in the house that require on-site and off-site cleaning and restoration.

Water Removal and Muck-Out Cleaning

One of the first actions our professionals can take about flood damage in Coral Springs properties is to manage standing water. Protecting and preserving impacted contents and items is challenging without first removing pooling water from the household and eliminating the mud, debris, and solids carried in with natural disasters. Some of the tools necessary for this extraction include:

  • Trash pumps
  • Truck-mount extractor
  • Wet vacuum

Cataloging Content Condition

We must inspect individual items to determine their salvageability and their current conditions. Understanding the needs of personal belongings, furniture, and fabrics determines how restorable these items are without additional relocation and more extensive attention and recovery efforts.

Pack-Out and Inventory Solutions

Choosing SERVPRO for restoration and recovery adds another layer of possible cleanup and repairs for the flood damaged contents in your home. When on-site cleaning is impossible, we can implement our pack-out process to relocate these items to our nearby facility. Under the care of our experienced cleaning technicians, we can provide focused cleaning, deodorization, and safe storage.

We understand the importance of preserving your personal belongings and keepsakes after flood damage. As devastating as these situations can be, we have a rapid response specifically designed to protect your home and its contents. 11/29/2021 (Permalink)

Removing standing water can be a challenge. SERVPRO is equipped for all of your water damage restoration needs.

Wet Vacuums are Some of the Most Heavily Used Extraction Tools for Water-Damaged Coral Springs Properties

Standing water presents immediate risks for a damaged home and its contents. While we have several extraction units available, few have the versatility and mobility of wet vacuums. There are several reasons it is among the most-used extractors.

Portability with Power

Water removal in Coral Springs homes is easier with a wet vacuum. One of the primary advantages of using one of these units is the portability and lighter weight for movement. Built-in flexibility makes these vacuums ideal for high-rise buildings, crawl space extraction, and other complicated or challenging extraction points.

Attachments and Versatility

We also use wet vacuums with other attachments and extensions to improve their functions and specific capabilities. Some of these include:

  • Carpet Wands – Carpets can absorb water quickly, so a high-powered attachment to pull out moisture trapped in fibers and padding is much-needed.
  • Squeegee Wands – With hard surfaces that are less likely to absorb standing water immediately, squeegee wands bring water into the center of the rod for extraction and leave little behind on the surface.
  • Weighted Extractors – Similar to carpet wands, weighted extractors work best on carpeted floors with padding. These units use weight to compress layers of the flooring and displace water to the surface for extraction.

High Functionality with Solids

Another advantage of choosing wet vacuums to remove floodwater and standing water is handling some solids and debris in the pooling. Multiple extraction units in our inventory cannot move the waste in standing water during discharge, but wet vacuums make this collection and draining more manageable.

Removing standing water or floodwater in any capacity can be a considerable challenge. Even with the sophisticated tools at our disposal, our SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland team must act fast to secure homes and businesses. When disasters strike, trust our fast-responding restoration team to help. Call today at (954) 973-4130.

After Flood Damage in Parkland: What is Secondary Damage?

11/11/2021 (Permalink)

Hurricanes can cause great damage to your home. Contact SERVPRO should your property be affected by storm damage. Our team is standing by to help.

SERVPRO Technicians Bring Professional Storm Damage Cleanup to Parkland Properties

The Parkland area is no stranger to storm damage. Occasional hurricanes, flash floods, and intense thunderstorms are part of the trade-off for living in the Sunshine state with mostly beautiful weather year-round.

After flood damage in a Parkland property, secondary water damage can occur, particularly if there are any delays in the water cleanup efforts. Some of the subsequent effects of floodwater in a home can include:

  • Electrical equipment ruined by over-exposure to moist conditions
  • Growth and spread of mold colonies
  • mold growth
  • Deteriorated building materials
  • Foul odors

How to Combat Secondary Damage

One of the best ways to limit the amount of secondary damage within a home is to act quickly to remove items that can get harmed by prolonged exposure to moisture. Another crucial action is to bring in professional restoration services to remove the water and dry the property. It is not uncommon for many building materials to require removal from the home after continuous contact with water.

SERVPRO technicians will go through the items within the worksite and determine which has restoration potential through professional cleaning methods. Most non-porous items can undergo immersion cleaning methods for reuse. Floodwater can hold a large number of fabric staining issues such as sewage, mud, and sludge. Washable fabrics and textiles such as bedding and rugs can get cleaned back to a pre-damage condition using specialized equipment like the Esporta Washing System.

Proactive treatments for mold include drying the structure thoroughly and using professional antifungal and antimicrobial cleaning agents on surfaces.

SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland at (954) 973-4130 serves the local Parkland community for any kind of flood damage cleanup and restoration services needed.

What are the Five Principles of Mold Remediation in Coral Springs Properties?

11/4/2021 (Permalink)

Regardless of the color of the mold, team SERVPRO can help with remediation. Call our technicians day or night for effective services.

SERVPRO Has the Training and Equipment to Handle All Types of Mold Damage in Coral Springs Homes

Mold damage can occur in any Coral Springs structure when the conditions are favorable. Once established, the infestation will continue to grow and spread until it gets mitigated.

SERVPRO technicians handling mold remediation in Coral Springs properties treat each mitigation unique and apply five principles to the job at hand. This practice ensures that each job gets the best outcome possible for a mold infestation. The five actionable tasks observed are:

  • Making safety and health for all a priority
  • Documentation of the damage
  • Controlling containment to inhibit the spread of spores
  • Stopping cross-contamination
  • Addressing the moisture issue within the structure

Containment is a large part of the mold mitigation process. The simple act of opening a door can cause a reaction known as aerosolization, which is the blowing of mold spores. The technicians may choose to use negative air chambers to capture and port airborne mold spores off-site. Another option is to put up plastic barriers over doorways and vents to keep the mold within a single work area.

The HVAC system is a common ground zero for mold growth in homes with mold damage. Mold can grow in the drain pans, filters, and piping. The spores can travel throughout the house through the ductwork, and the technicians may need to clean the ducts as part of the remediation process. The constant moisture levels of the HVAC are just one area where mold can find a hospitable environment. Other favorite foods for mold colonies include paper, drywall, some insulation types, certain types of paint, and caulk.

SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland at (954) 973-4130 has a team of trained and certified technicians ready to handle any size mold remediation needed in Coral Springs residential properties.

What are Common Mistakes Causing the Need for Fire Restoration in Coral Springs Homes?

10/30/2021 (Permalink)

Facing a recent fire? Take control of the situation by contacting SERVPRO for fire damage remediation services. Our technicians are ready to help.

SERVPRO Techs Can Clean and Restore Homes With Any Size or Type of Fire Damage

When fire damage occurs within a Coral Springs home, sometimes the residents react incorrectly and cause even greater damage to the property and contents.

SERVPRO deals with all types of fire restoration in Coral Springs properties. In some cases, the damages increased due to actions taken by the homeowner. Here are tips for handling common home fire situations.

Incorrect Judging of Fire Scale

The first reaction in a home fire situation is to grab the extinguisher and go to work. However, not all fires can be put out with a consumer-sized extinguisher. This can lead to greater damage due to a delay in calling the first responders when the home efforts run dry, and the fire still blazes. Frequently seen damages to properties from home fires include:

  • Soot-covered walls and home contents needing restorative cleaning
  • Ruined structural elements from water and flames
  • Charred possessions requiring removal

Using Incorrect Methods for Extinguishing

It takes a large amount of water to extinguish a fire fueled by solids or paper thoroughly. Smoldering embers can reignite and must be saturated. Water should never be used on electrical or grease fires as it can compound the situation into an inferno. Turn off the power to the home in the event of an electrical fire.

Develop an Evacuation Plan

This tip can save your life. Have a meeting with your family and determine different ways to get out of the house in case of a fire. Fire ladders that attach to windows and unroll can be placed in each bedroom and practice how they work and how to use them safely. Lastly, establish a meeting place outside the home for the family to go and then run timed drills and see how quickly everyone can gather. Most of all, practice once a month and try to beat the former month's time.

In the aftermath of a house fire, SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland at (954) 973-4130 offers support and professional fire restoration services to Coral Springs residents with their technicians available 24/7.

How Can Saturated Carpets Get Restored in Coral Springs Condos?

10/12/2021 (Permalink)

Contact our SERVPRO team right away if your carpet is left soaked after an incident. Our technicians will arrive to help you.

From extraction to carpet cleaning, restoring flooring is vital after water damage in Coral Springs residences.

Regardless of the nature of the water damage incident your condo experiences, our SERVPRO professionals need to act fast when high-rise condos become threatened by standing water and moisture migration. We have effective mitigation solutions like water removal and content relocation to help.

Extraction Solutions After Water Damage

Water damage restoration for Coral Springs residences like the condos must start where the damage is at its worst, often in the porous and fibrous elements like fabrics and carpeted flooring. Carpets and their padding quickly absorb standing water and requires a variety of extraction tools to remove it, including:

  • Carpet wands
  • Wet vacuums
  • Weighted extractors
  • Drying mats

Can Carpet Get Preserved If It Is Saturated?

Just because a carpet is wet does not mean that it cannot be dried and preserved. Much of the threat in these situations exists when delamination of the carpet layers begins. When this visible degradation starts, it is often more cost-effective and faster to pull up this damaged flooring and replace it with new carpets.

Can SERVPRO Complete Demolition and Reinstallation?

While it is not our objective to remove and replace the carpets in your condo, this is sometimes inevitable when saturation and water exposure have persisted for a long period. With a general contractor license (#CBC1261730), we have the experienced and capable IICRC-certified professionals to pull up damaged carpet and padding for reinstallation.

Protecting and restoring the flooring in your residence or condo is not always straightforward once saturation occurs. Our SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland team must work quickly to determine the best mitigation solutions and drying strategies to protect underlying elements like subflooring as much as possible. We can help 24/7 at (954) 973-4130.

How Can Floodwater Get Removed from Parkland Crawlspaces?

10/5/2021 (Permalink)

The crawlspace under your home needs to be kept dry to prevent any secondary damage from forming. Contact our team for flood damage services.

Eliminating standing water protects your Parkland home from greater harm after a flood.

Post-flooding damage in the crawlspace of your home might not seem like a pressing concern, but it can have direct and devastating effects on the structural integrity of your house. Our immediate mitigation and restoration solutions can help.

Extraction Options for Confined Spaces

It is vital to get water removal services started in Parkland, even in a confined space, as soon as possible. While smaller work areas limit the available equipment, our team can still access the crawlspace and remove standing water with:

  • Wet vacuums
  • Light wands
  • Truck-mount extractors
  • Gas-powered trash pumps

Drying The Structure After Flood and Storm Damage

Even with the extraction completed, protecting the property is not complete until the lingering moisture has been resolved in some capacity. Moist environments can promote mold development, which becomes a health hazard for those exposed. Low-profile air movers and desiccant dehumidifiers with an outside unit can help return relative humidity to acceptable levels.

Can Crawlspace Encapsulation Help?

The crawlspace might be an area that is frequently at risk for flood damage and similar loss effects, making it worthwhile to consider permanent solutions to prevent recurrences. With a contractor license (CBC1261730), our professionals can offer a service to encapsulate the crawlspace with thick poly-sheeting and install water diversion and drain equipment to prevent pooling around protected elements.

With harsh weather expected in the region, Coral Springs and Parkland homes can experience floodwater and moisture in the crawlspace of their residence. Considering the damaging effects these conditions can have, our SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland team needs to work fast to remove standing water and protect the exposed structural elements. Give us a call today at (954) 973-4130.

Less Invasive Mold Remediation Strategies for Coral Springs Offices

9/30/2021 (Permalink)

If mold damage affects your business, SERVPRO is Here to Help.

We begin with less intrusive mold removal options for busy Coral Springs office buildings.

Because many businesses never recover from widespread damages like mold damage events, it is critical for professionals like our SERVPRO team to help with effective remediation and mold removal. We understand the burden on production and running the business, so we provide the least distracting and invasive cleaning options.

Mold Inspections Can Help Catalog Damages

One of the first steps to managing mold damage in Coral Springs office buildings is an inspection. Our production manager can walk through the structure with management to determine your priorities, the best remediation solutions, and the affected areas.

Surface Treatment Options

We strive to provide the least aggressive cleaning and remediation tactics available for your office building to limit our presence and disruption to your daily operations. Antimicrobial and sporicidal products can often provide wet cleaning strategies that eliminate mold spores on contact and make the surface uninhabitable to future colonies.

Aggressive Remediation Tactics That Might Be Necessary

While we will expect to utilize the least invasive and intruding approaches, considerable mold damage can often go beyond simple cleaning solutions like antimicrobial cleaning products. Instead, we have to remove the entire hyphae of an organism deeply seated in organic material, which can require:

  • Dry Ice Blasting
  • Sanding
  • Abrasive Cleaning
  • Controlled Demolition

Mold damage can be one of the most threatening situations for area businesses, making it critical for our team to provide efficient and effective remediation strategies as soon as possible. We understand the importance of keeping your business going, so we choose the least invasive removal solutions whenever we can. Give our SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland team a call today at (954) 973-4130.

SERVPRO Saves Coral Springs Homes from Flood Damage After a Storm

9/18/2021 (Permalink)

When a storm strikes home, SERVPRO is the team to call for the help you need.

What Makes SERVPRO One of the Most Reliable Names in Coral Springs for Flood Damage Restoration?

Restoring flood damage to your Coral Springs home requires trained professionals with the technical expertise, experience, and tools to get the job done quickly. The longer the contaminated floodwater sits on your property, the more extensive damage it can cause. SERVPRO's team of IICRC certified water damage restoration experts aim at removing not only the standing water but also the residual moisture from your flooded home.

SERVPRO techs modulate several environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity during flood damage restoration to your Coral Springs home. Our technicians use their psychrometry and drying science knowledge to create conditions that afford quick drying of the structure and its contents.

Drying Principles that SERVPRO Techs Use During Water Cleanup of Your Flooded Coral Springs Home

SERVPRO techs use techniques mentioned in the IICRC S500 Standard for Professional Water Damage Restoration during flood mitigation of your Coral Springs home. The restorers perform several activities to speed up the drying process, including-

  • Managing the psychrometric properties of the environment
  • Effect moisture movement through different materials
  • To promote surface evaporation from the materials

SERVPRO technicians can perform these activities as they understand the porosity of the involved material, how moisture moves through those materials and how to enhance the drying of these materials.

The goal is to encourage the moisture to migrate to the material's surface from which it can evaporate under the given conditions. Controlling the airflow and humidity above the materials using air movers and dehumidifying equipment can achieve this goal. SERVPRO techs continually monitor the moisture level of the contents and that of the air to maintain a constant evaporation rate.

Fire Restoration in Coral Springs Happens Fast with SERVPRO at The Helm

9/9/2021 (Permalink)

Fire damage restoration is no DIY project. Call the professionals at SERVPRO for fast and immediate service.

What Makes SERVPRO One of the Most Trusted Fire Restoration Service in Coral Springs?

Fire and smoke damage can not only cause aesthetic issues to your home but can create structural integrity problems as well. Promptly hiring SERVPRO professionals for fire restoration of your Coral Springs home can limit any long-term damage to your property. SERVPRO technicians use their scientific understanding of the behavior of smoke and fire to develop mitigation strategies that are both efficient and effective.

SERVPRO techs encounter different types of smoke and soot residues during the fire restoration of Coral Springs homes. These residues differ in their chemical composition and directly affect the storability of the involved material. For instance, a fire that burns fast often leaves a dry residue that is easier to manage than a slower burning fire that leaves a sticky residue. Consequently, SERVPRO technicians need to use different methods to remove such residues successfully.

Why are Some Residues Left After smoke damage to Your Coral Springs Home Difficult to Clean Than Others?

The restorability of your Coral Springs home after fire and smoke damage depends on several factors such as the type of the residue, the temperature of the fire, the kind of material involved in the fire, to name a few.

A burning material creates an aerosol of solid particles and gasses suspended in the air that eventually settle on colder surfaces. The kind of solid particles formed depends on the chemical composition of the material being burned. For instance, burning synthetic material can create sticky, difficult-to-remove residues. Furthermore, the higher temperature of the smoke allows soot particles to impinge on surfaces, driving them deeper and making them difficult to clean.

SERVPRO Offers Reliable and Timely Water Damage Repair Services to Parkland Homes

Need Water Damage Repair Done in Your Parkland Home? SERVPRO is Here to Help

  • Burst pipes
  • Ceiling leaks
  • Leaking roof from storm
  • Faulty plumbing

Whatever the reason for the water damage, professionals from SERVPRO have the training, experience, and equipment to handle it for you.

One of the most important steps in water damage repair of your Parkland home is to remove any standing water from the property as soon as possible. SERVPRO technicians use some of the most advanced pumps to get this job done. The type of pump that restorers use depends on the amount of water, the proportion of solids in the water, and the suction lift required.

What Type of Water Pumps do SERVPRO Techs Use in Different Conditions During Water Removal from Parkland Homes?

The three main types of pumps that SERVPRO techs use during water clean up from your Parkland home-

If the water contains many suspended solids, the SERVPRO techs use self-priming trash pumps. Such pumps can easily remove solids that are up to 3 inches in size.

A submersible pump can be directly immersed into the water to be removed. However, such pumps operate on electricity and hence might not be available to use in all situations.

Another factor that SERVPRO techs consider while choosing the right pump is the amount of suction lift required. If the fluid needs to travel over 25 feet vertical distance, we use high-pressure pumps that offer a superior suction lift compared to the other types of pumps.

SERVPRO technicians employ several cleaning strategies during fire damage restoration of your Parkland home to eliminate the smoke and soot residue. While some residues can be easy to eliminate, the ones left behind by burning protein and synthetic material can be quite challenging to clean. SERVPRO's fire restoration experts understand that not all residues are alike and use scientific methods to eliminate even the toughest residues from your fire-damaged home.

SERVPRO Uses Advanced Cleaning Technology During House Fire Cleanup in Parkland

One of the reasons for SERVPRO's success in restoring fire and smoke damage in Parkland lies in our use of advanced cleaning technology. Some of the advanced cleaning products we use during fire restoration include enzyme digestion, bleaching, and oxidation.

Our technicians use cleaning products containing enzymes that change the residue from being water-insoluble to water-soluble. Enzymes are very effective in eliminating certain types of residues compared to other traditional cleaners. Bleaching agents that SERVPRO techs use also alter the chemistry by either oxidizing or reducing the residue, making it easy to remove from surfaces.

Commercial establishments, including office spaces, restaurants, and gyms, can suffer extensive losses due to water issues. Hiring a professional water mitigation service such as SERVPRO at the right time can save your Coral Springs establishment from any long-term damage.

SERVPRO technicians work hard to develop a strategy for water mitigation of your Coral Springs property that is least intrusive to the normal functioning of the business activities. We establish drying zones in the affected areas, sealing them off the unaffected areas to minimize secondary damage. SERVPRO technicians also use state-of-the-art equipment to speed up the drying process. However, in some instances, a controlled demolition might be needed to set up a drying system.

How is Controlled Demolition Used to Accelerate Drying During Water Damage Repairs in Coral Springs

The IICRC S500 guidelines recommend considering controlled demolition to speed up the drying process. The SERVPRO technicians might consider the following during the water restoration process-

  • Removing carpet pad- SERVPRO techs use knee kicker and carpet awl to detach the carpet and extract water from the pad. The damaged carpet pad is cut into 2 ⋅ 2 feet sections before proper disposal.
  • Removing baseboard and ventilating walls- If the water has saturated wall cavities, SERVPRO techs might need to perform baseboard removal. A special wall cavity drying system can be used in case of extensive water damage. The system forces air to move up into the wall cavities through holes drilled into the wall. We have an assortment of riggings for these injecti-dry devices.

SERVPRO Can Prevent Long-Term Damage to Coral Springs Homes After Flood Damage

Flooding due to storms can cause extensive damage to your property if you don't seek professional help promptly. Unmitigated flood damage to your Coral Springs home can cause structural damage leading to long-term issues. SERVPRO's IICRC certified restoration experts can help you to prevent the situation from going out of hand.

One of the top priorities of SERVPRO during the restoration of flood damage to your Coral Springs home is to dry the structure and contents as quickly as possible. Residual moisture can cause secondary issues and can even compromise the structural integrity of the affected material. Hence, the SERVPRO technicians must restore the moisture levels to preloss conditions during flood restoration. Our restorers manipulate the humidity and temperature of the drying air to afford fast and efficient drying.

How do SERVPRO Techs Establish Equilibrium Conditions During Water Damage Repairs of Coral Springs Homes?

SERVPRO's water damage restoration technicians use nature's equilibrium to move excess moisture from wet materials in your Coral Springs home. Our technicians use dry air and warm air to speed up the drying process.

  • Dry air- Evaporation can occur faster if the air above the wet material has a low humidity ratio. As drier air has low vapor pressure compared to the wet material, moisture can move quickly from the wet material into the dry air to establish equilibrium.
  • Warm air- If the air above the wet material is warmer than the air’s dew point temperature, drying can be sped up considerably.

Which Fire Damage Restoration Method Can Save Dinnerware In My Parkland Home From Soot Discoloration?

7/15/2021 (Permalink)

After a fire catastrophe, SERVPRO's skilled technicians know exactly what to do to bring your home and belongings back to life. Call us right away.

SERVPRO Uses Specialized Cleaning Techniques Such As Ultrasonic Cleaning To Fix Fire and Smoke Damage

Since smoke movements are uninhibited during a fire event, soot tends to reach all nooks and crannies in a property. Your valued dinnerware and other items locked away in cabinets may end up with thick layers of soot even if the flames or heat do not reach them. Professional cleaning by a team like SERVPRO can help reverse the effect of soot, “Like it never even happened.”

Mishandling soot on the glass or ceramic items during fire damage restoration in your Parkland home can leave them discolored or stained, thus diminishing their aesthetic value. Problems arise if the items remain covered in soot over extended periods or poor handling, which might break soot agglomerations creating microscopic particles that regular cleaning cannot remove.  SERVPRO has considerable experience resolving fire damage issues and thus tackles soot problems through proper item handling and the use of advanced cleaning techniques.

During House Fire Cleanup, Our Teams Mostly Handle:

  • Fire damage restoration
  • Smoke remediation
  • Water & fire damage restorations

Ultrasonic cleaning is one of the reliable cleaning techniques we use to remove soot, grease, and dirt from your dinnerware, restoring its normal shine after a fire incident. The method is not only effective in removing all traces of soiling, but it also reduces the chances of breaking something during the cleaning attempt. Our SERVPRO technicians dip the items in an ultrasonic tank and fill it with the appropriate cleaning solution. High frequency sounds then produce millions of bubbles that implode, creating microscopic jet streams and high temperatures that remove all the soils from the items dipped in the tank.

SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland provides tailored fire damage restoration services that match the conditions at your loss site. Call us at (954) 973-4130 when you need assistance.

Any fire leaves a mixture of damages. Our SERVPRO technicians take some steps, such as removing contents and building materials deemed unsalvageable early in the effort to resolve fire damage. If the flames left deep charring in fixtures such as cabinets, we perform controlled demolition, removing only the damaged materials and saving the rest.

For other issues, such as thick layers of residue, we use specialized cleaning techniques such as soda blasting as part of the smoke remediation. During the process, our SERVPRO technicians direct sodium bicarbonate pellets towards the soiled surfaces using pressurized air. The soda particles disintegrate when they hit the surface, removing the layer of smoke residues or charring without causing other damages. Though it sounds like a violent action, in reality, it is very gentle, as the compound is soft.

How Does Attic Flood Damage Get Removed in Coral Springs?

4/30/2021 (Permalink)

Flood damage can occur in your attic, your basement or somewhere in between. Tackle flooding with a quick call to SERVPRO.

Our Fast Response for Water Removal and Cleanup Can Resolve Flood Damage in Coral Springs

Flood damage is more common in the area than many think. We have a fast storm damage response team to begin vital water removal services and other mitigation tasks to help.

Is Attic Flood Damage Common for Coral Springs?

When you consider how common flood damage in Coral Springs has become, it is not unlikely that many of these homes suffer some degree of flood damage to their attic spaces as well. Many homeowners do not recognize a problem in the attic until it reaches lower levels of the house where the living spaces exist. Because severe weather events can happen frequently, shingled roofs can be at risk for high winds, hail, torrential rainfall, and flying debris for vulnerabilities that allow water penetration.

How Do Water Removal Services Work on This Upper Floor?

Removing standing water in the attic space might be challenging, especially when this is an unfinished area of your home. Several extraction devices in our inventory can help remove clean flood water where it penetrates vulnerabilities in the roof or siding in the house. In many situations, high-pressure extractors are the ideal solution with the necessary head to discharge standing water from this area of the home to the appropriate drain out point. Wet vacuums can also be suitable because of their mobility and versatility in smaller spaces.

What Flood Damage Cleanup Practices Should Take Place?

If you have an unfinished attic, many exposed building materials like wood framing and insulation can become targets for spreading contaminants and other debris. Cleaning up after water penetration into the attic space of your home can require careful planning and execution, especially when flooring might be incomplete or inadequate to support equipment or several of our team members. We determine what the property needs and the best way to provide this service efficiently.

Can SERVPRO Conduct Post-Flood Repairs?

One of the advantages to choosing our SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland team to help with flood damage cleanup and restoration is our general contractor license. This accreditation allows us to help with many of the repairs and reconstruction services your property might need after a flood loss. The job scoping phase can initially determine where controlled demolition and build back might be needed, but the final determination before construction begins often follows the bulk of flood restoration. We can help with:

  • Roof repairs
  • Siding repairs
  • Tree removal
  • Window replacement
  • Build back

What Is Necessary Before Repainting Surfaces During Fire Restoration in Coral Springs?

4/15/2021 (Permalink)

Although the fire was small, smoke and soot traveled throughout the home. This is no DIY job. SERVPRO is always on call.

SERVPRO Cleans and Seals Surfaces During Fire Restoration in Coral Springs Homes

When restoring your fire-damaged home, you must decide how to deal with soiled walls, ceilings, and other surfaces. Cleaning or repainting are two standard solutions. Even when you opt to repaint the affected surfaces, some level of cleaning is necessary.

If fire restoration in a Coral Springs property requires surface repainting, the cleaning procedures do not have to leave surfaces visually clean, so the challenge is minimal. However, the method or products used must not interfere with the repainting process. SERVPRO technicians try to strike the perfect balance when handling:

When cleaning for paint in fire-damaged homes, our SERVPRO technicians remove loose residues such as soot. We also neutralize the acids in remnant residues and deodorize the property. Another alternative step is sealing the surface using a product like pigmented alcohol shellac to prepare it for repainting. Through such thorough groundwork, we can complete the restoration work satisfactorily.

Struggling with Rust Stains after a Water Leak at Your Parkland Home?

4/7/2021 (Permalink)

The spring storm season is here. Should water invade your home call SERVPRO!

SERVPRO Chooses the Right Products to Handle Rust Stains During Water Cleanup

Rust development can be a significant issue after water intrusion incidents. It primarily affects upholstery, carpets, draperies, and other fabrics close to metallic parts such as zippers, buttons, curtain rods, or furniture legs.

After rust develops, the right approach is necessary when performing water cleanup in Parkland properties to guarantee effective removal. Removing rust from fabrics is challenging because it requires the appropriate chemical agents to neutralize the rust. The chosen cleaning agent must also match the type of material to avoid setting stains. SERVPRO technicians rely on their advanced training and experience in managing:

  • Burst pipes
  • Ceiling leaks
  • Flood restoration

One of the reliable solutions we use to manage rust stains is Rusticide, an oxalic-phosphoric compound. It works well on various materials, including wool, silk, cotton, linen, carpeting, and synthetic fibers.

Our SERVPRO technicians also help ensure the proper application of the solution. Spraying the solution directly to the rust stain and agitating the area with a bone scraper helps. For older stains, applying steam over the affected area after applying the Rusticide helps.

For Convenient Water Removal from Your Corals Springs Facility, Call SERVPRO

There is a saying that Coral Springs is located nowhere, yet it is close to everything. It is a short drive away from other popular locations such as Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Coconut Creek, and other popular areas. It also neighbors the Everglades, where people partake in various thrilling activities like canoe trips, kayaking, and airboat rides.

A Relaxing Environment

Florida, in general, is considered a haven for retirees because of the warm weather and friendly tax laws. However, Coral Springs' master plan was geared towards younger people. Over the years, the median age has consistently been in the mid-30s. Several features, including a 182-acre Sportsplex and dozens of parks, help keep the younger residents occupied. Some of the top parks in the city include:

  • Cypress Park known for sports facilities, including four soccer fields and five ball fields.

Housing in Coral Springs

Zoning rules help keep the neighborhoods upscale and pretty. For instance, any perimeter barriers set around properties must be the semi-privacy variant to allow wind-flow and visibility. The fences are also limited to 6 feet in height for the backyard and 4 feet for the front yard, ensuring clear visibility for drivers.

The Best Places to Shop

Another remarkable aspect of the city is the variety and ease of access to shopping facilities. Some of the notable establishments include:

  • The Walk on University -It comprises approximately two city blocks and was created from renovating aging retail and office buildings and incorporating a vacant lot. The facility offers a unique experience for shoppers because they can walk around as they sample everything from fashion to dining facilities.
  • Coral square -It is an enclosed, climate-controlled shopping mall featuring many renowned stores like Kohl's, JCPenney, Macy's, and others.

What Can Parkland Businesses Expect from Expert Water Removal?

3/2/2021 (Permalink)

The once in a hundred year storms can happen here. Take precautions to winterize your pipes!

Gain Water Mitigation and Remediation Tips from Others' Bad Luck

Although the Parkland area is seldom at risk from snow and ice storms or plummeting temperatures, extreme weather events considered "once in a 100 years" surprises are on the rise everywhere. Unheard-of low temperature plus the build-up of wintery-mix precipitation causes significant property damage in typically temperate or warm areas. Shocking storms in places like Texas can catch a businessperson's attention, even in our region.

How Do Frozen Water Pipes Cause Damage?

If unfamiliar with the consequences of frozen water lurking in supply or waste pipes, the first time a Parkland business owner confronts the cause and effect can be enlightening and terrifying. Damage similar to that seen during tropical storms, hurricanes, and overland flooding can trace to water's mere presence in a pipe. Water flowing through plumbing is a standard operating procedure when the ambient temperature is above 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Disaster occurs when below-freezing temperatures cause liquid water to:

  • Transform into a solid.
  • Occupy more space during the freezing than did the liquid water.
  • Exert significant pressure on the pipes and fittings, the swelling creating cracks and splitting apart connections.

As weather conditions improve and temperatures increase, the worst happens. The frozen water melts, pouring through the pipe fissures into the affected properties.

What Can Businesses Do to Avoid Broken Pipes Due to Cold Weather?

Owners of commercial buildings in colder climates put many safeguards to prevent the catastrophic damage that frozen pipes bring. Similar in intent to the planning done to protect property because of Parkland's tropical climate and risk of exposure to hurricanes and other severe storms, steps taken to minimize the harm of freezing and thawing include:

  • Insulation of the pipes and spaces where pipes thread through.
  • Sealing of joints and other weak spots that permit outdoor air to intrude.
  • Installation of an automatic excess flow switch on the main supply water line to detect a broken pipe or valve.
  • Shut off the water main once the leak potential becomes apparent.

These practical and affordable strategies can deflect the rare possibility of frozen pipes in Parkland and prevent or give early warning of a range of other water problems in your business.

Who Should Get the Call if Plumbing Fails in Your Business?

Regardless of how water makes its way through the infrastructure intended to contain it in your Parkland business, water removal is crucial. SERVPRO positions water extraction as one of our core services, investing in worker training from the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) and high-efficiency and heavy-duty equipment. We arrive promptly and complete the following:

  • A safety hazard assessment, determining whether trapped fluids pose additional risks
  • Pumping and extraction of the bulk of the water with submersible and truck-mounted equipment

We also perform controlled demolition to release water from building cavities, including

  • Punching weep holes in ceilings and upper walls
  • Cutting drainage slits to permit water between walls to exit
  • Sawing flood cuts to remove irreparably damaged drywall and open areas for water removal and structural drying.

Our construction division helps with both the demolition and any build back needed.

Be sure to line up the pros at SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland for your commercial water extraction needs. Call (954) 973-4130 for a prompt assessment and implementation of an efficient water removal plan.

Historically, the Coral Springs Area Has Been Prone to Wildfires

1/26/2021 (Permalink)

People are often surprised to learn that wildfires occur in Florida. Always keep a watchful eye, and call SERVPRO for your fire damage restoration.

Nearby Fire Damage Restoration Services Often Come in Handy

Over the past forty years, the Coral Springs area has suffered at least twenty-five major wildfires. The city has been especially susceptible to these destructive events because of its proximity to the Everglades and the various volatile South Florida weather conditions that naturally foster fire ignition and proliferation. The western edge of the City of Coral Springs, located in Broward County, borders the Everglades' wilderness. So, western parts of the community are most often impacted by fires that rage through the bordering wildlands. The fires are generally spawned by the notoriously unpredictable and supercharged southern Florida weather. Lightning strikes, and sometimes airplane crashes usually ignite the blazes, and the area's infamously strong winds spread them.

Some of The Region's More Notable Wild Blazes

Of the twenty-five or more severe blazes that have scorched Broward County since 1981, six burned more than 40,000 acres. These infernos filled the air with chokingly thick smoke, hindered travel in the region, and threatened numerous area residents' homes. The names of these large raging fires were the:

  • "Deceiving" fire of April 1999 that burned 173,000 acres.
  • "Mud Fire" of May 1989, which charred 96,000 acres.
  • "Basshole" blaze that occurred in May of 1994 and torched 80,000 acres.
  • "Big Cypress" fire of March 1989 that burned 52,000 acres.
  • "Heat Fire" that started in June of 2006 and incinerated 49,500 acres.
  • "Oh No Fire" of February 1997 that charred 41,000 acres.

When wildfires like these occur, smoke and soot residues could enter and settle on surfaces around your home. These could cause ongoing odor issues and may even cause health effects. Even worse, stray embers from nearby blazes could land on your house and start new fires.

A Recent Wildfire Highlights the Region's Ever Present Wildfire Risks

In June of 2019, the Coral Springs area was threatened by an approaching fire from its neighboring wildlands. Started by a lightning strike and facilitated by an extended dry period and strong winds, the "Sawgrass Fire" burned nearly 50,000 acres. Its thick, black smoke hindered travel and fouled area homes with harmful airborne particles, settling residues, and unpleasant odors.

With all that said, your helpful neighbors at SERVPRO of West Coral Springs/West Parkland are always here to help you with your fire damage restoration efforts.

Prominent employers in the area include:

  • KB Electronics
  • United Medco
  • Broward Health
  • Cleveland Clinic
  • Fiserv

“The City in the Country” is renowned for being among the top communities in South Florida regarding education, safety, employment opportunities, and growth. It is one of the most leading examples of a thriving planned community in the United States. Young professionals who prioritize upward mobility and families alike thrive in this diverse city.

A Brief History of Coral Springs

Coral Springs sits on 2,000-acres of land purchased by Henry Lyons sometime between 1911 and 1939. However, the area suffered several significant floods in 1947, which necessitated the construction of several levees to drain the floodwaters. After a few years of bean farming, Lyons passed away, and his heirs shifted to raising cattle.

Coral Ridge Properties purchased almost 3900 acres from the Lyons family for $1 million in 1961 during a postwar South Florida real estate boom. This massive acquisition added to an already collection of land parcels in Broward County.

1963 was the year Coral Springs was chartered, and the following year, the city sold over $1.6 million worth of building lots. In 1965, Coral Ridge Properties acquired 6,000 more acres from the Lyons family. Coral Springs’ first city elections were held in 1967.

Since its founding, Coral Springs built a plethora of new structures to support the community, including the 945,000 square-foot Coral Square shopping mall, 19 public schools, and the Sawgrass Expressway 1986.

The Coral Springs Museum of Art is an additional notable development in the community’s history. It was built in 1997, next to the Coral Springs Center for the Arts erected one year prior.

This unique visual art facility features the following:

  • An International Peace Garden filled with sculptures and eco-friendly landscaping
  • A 54’ x 17’ ceramic tile relief of the Everglades
  • Yoshin Ogata’s Mindscape
  • A meticulously-crafted mosaic chair
  • A plethora of community-driven programs and events for residents of Broward, Palm Beach, and Miami-Dade counties

The Coral Springs Parkland Fire Department

The Coral Springs Parkland Fire Department (CSPFD) spans across eight stations, including three located in nearby Parkland. Before establishing the local fire protection service in 1970, Coral Springs residents relied on the Margate Fire Department. The CSPFD’s origins are humble, initially consisting of a small volunteer crew with nine firefighters on staff.

Coral Ridge Properties gifted the crew with its first fire truck. Before fire hydrants were built in town, firefighters had to draw water from local canals. In 1979 the department was hailed as one of the top volunteer firefighting companies in the United States. Their dedication to training continues to this day. The fire training involves using buildings that were already scheduled for demolition and damaged cars to recreate scenarios as close to real-life situations as possible.

Today, Coral Springs’ fire department has a paid workforce. Its training program birthed the Coral Springs Regional Institute of Public Safety (CSRIPS), the only fire academy in Florida to offer every course needed to become a firefighter in one institution. The CSPFD also has 18 members in southern Florida’s Task Force 2, which is specially trained to respond to vaious emergencies, including:

  • Earthquakes, typhoons, hurricanes, and other natural disasters
  • Hazardous materials emergencies and terrorist attacks
  • Infrastructural and technological failures

Task Force 2 members specialize in rescuing victims from confined areas and swift water rescues during floods and other disasters. The Miami Fire Department sponsors the Task Force.

How Does SERVPRO Clean Soot in Fire-Damaged Coral Springs Homes?

SERVPRO technicians are licensed and trained to perform fire damage restoration services for Coral Springs homeowners 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including all holidays. Whether your home requires light soot cleanup after a stovetop flare-up or an electrical fire has left behind significant damage, your local SERVPRO has the means to return your home to a preloss state.

Restoration services include returning the contents of your property to the original condition when possible. Soot-affected clothing, for example, may require the following:

  • Sorting of clothes based on three tiers of priority decided by the homeowner: clothing needed now, clothing needed later, and seasonal apparel
  • Disposal of metal hangers to prevent oxidation from staining clothes
  • Removal of loose, dry soot deposits with tools like compressed air, which also evaporates odor molecules
  • Thermal fogging and solvent-based odor counteractant sprays are ideal for odor control

Time is essential when treating soot-affected clothing because the synthetic fibers that are common today are prone to binding with smoke odors and particles, which can cause permanent damage. SERVPRO also utilizes Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC)-approved techniques and EPA-registered biocides to mitigate stains, odors, and microbial growth.

A short drive away, Lion Country Safari offers one of the safest and most exciting field trips for all to consider. Just like an African safari, you travel through the grounds in your vehicle while listening to a safari guide through your radio or phone and admiring the animals close-by. If you worry that this adventure sounds too good to be true, remember the following-

  • Capacity has been reduced, so the number of guests is limited
  • Tickets must be pre-purchased and shown at the entry to provide a contactless admission
  • Masks are required when outside the vehicle
  • No pets or soft-top vehicles are allowed

As far as engaging in a fun day with minimal risk, Lion Country Safari checks all the boxes! Just like them, at SERVPRO of West Coral Springs/West Parkland, we also seek to check all the boxes of a successful water cleanup project. Call us at (954) 973-4130 whenever it rains, or broken pipes add excess humidity to your home, and let us work with you until your home feels “Like it never even happened.”

Coral Springs is a Great Place to Live

11/25/2020 (Permalink)

When disaster strikes in your Coral Springs area, give SERVPRO a call to mitigate your problems.

Beaches, Nature and Entertainment Make Coral Springs a Wonderful Place to Settle Down

Coral Springs is a relatively young city in Broward County, Florida. It was only chartered in July of 1963, adding itself to the Miami metropolitan area. It was a planned community developed by Coral Ridge Properties, which gave the city its name. Contrary to what one would expect, there are no natural springs in the area. However, Coral Springs does offer the beauty of South Florida with its fantastic weather and proximity to idyllic beaches. Following its incorporation, the city grew and maintained its allure through strict oversight, low crime rates, and family-friendly appeal. It is hard to believe that cattle were the leading population in the area barely half a century ago. Now, you find schools, shopping centers, numerous parks, and significant retail space, as well as the growth that came after the Sawgrass Expressway was built in 1986.

As you drive through Broward County, you’ll find Parkland, Coconut Creek, Margate, North Lauderdale, and Tamarac bordering Coral Springs. To its west, the magnificent Everglades serves as the city’s neighbor. You may notice that tall buildings are not standard in the area, which goes hand in hand with the original guidelines put forth by Coral Ridge Properties, which included sign restrictions and landscaping. A fun fact regarding signage showed up in the popular game, Trivial Pursuit. Coral Springs was the first city to house a McDonald’s without its iconic golden arches. Building paint, storage of boats and recreational vehicles, and many other rules are still enforced. Some say that the attention to detail makes it such a great place to live and drive property values higher than comparable communities. Construction continues, especially in the downtown area.

Among other amenities in Coral Springs, residents enjoy free city bus rides within its boundaries, while Broward County Transit runs transportation to other localities. The Sawgrass Expressway helps connect residents like the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, a mere 27 miles away, and a true gateway to the world.

Broward County’s History

Even though Coral Springs is a young city, Broward County dates to the early 1900s. Most people do not realize that Broward owes its name to Napoleon Bonaparte Broward, who governed Florida from 1905 to 1909. Governor Broward began to make the Everglades habitable and make it into what is now his namesake county.

Dania, the County’s first incorporated community, was followed by pompano and Fort Lauderdale. A few years later, in 1915, Dade County and Palm Beach County contributed portions of land to form Broward County. In 1919, Ft. Lauderdale opened its first hotel, and wetlands were dredged to create residential communities. Sadly a hurricane in 1926 devastated the booming area. It wasn’t until after World War II that another boom happened, and residential neighborhoods took over what used to be agricultural lands.

The 1960s brought significant change to Broward County, including the incorporation of Coral Springs, Parkland, and Tamarac, among others. The decade also marks the desegregation of County beaches in 1962, two years after Broward College opened its doors. Today, the area continues to grow in tandem with the greater Miami area, and Broward County beaches are a popular destination for vacationers and retirees. Easy access, a robust healthcare system, and reputable academic institutions are a few of the qualities Broward County residents enjoy.

Are There Long-Term Problems That Water Mitigation Exercises in Coral Springs Can Fail To Address?

10/31/2020 (Permalink)

Dealing with water damage on your own can be quite overwhelming. Partner with SERVPRO during this time for effective remediation services.

SERVPRO Focuses on both Immediate and Long-term Issues When Performing Water Mitigation in Coral Springs Properties

You might consider water mitigation as something to do to solve immediate problems when there is a water spill at your Coral Springs home. However, such incidents can continue affecting your property even after you handle all the issues that you notice immediately. When SERVPRO mitigates water damage, the aim is to handle current problems and prevent future ones.

What immediate problems should water mitigation exercises in Coral Springs address?

  • Pooling water
  • Soiling and staining of various materials
  • Deterioration of materials exposed to moisture
  • Bad odor

In the aftermath of a water intrusion incident in Coral Springs, most of the problems that develop are readily identifiable. For instance, the water pooling on flat surfaces such as floors, the soiled and wet materials are hard to ignore. That is why most mitigation exercises focus on addressing those issues rather than unseen problems or those that might crop up later.

Knowing there is a problem is easy but resolving it might not be that simple. For instance, removing standing water in Coral Spring requires the appropriate equipment because using mops and buckets may take long or leave traces of moisture in some areas.  Our SERVPRO technicians prepare for such tasks in advance to ensure we have the appropriate resources for each task. When you notify us about the problem at your home, we ask pertinent questions such as the total area affected, whether the floor is tiled, wooden, or carpeted, among other things. With enough information gathered, we can be sure of the best type of extraction equipment to use in your property.  Such equipment falls into different categories, including:

  • Deep extraction tools which remove water from porous floor materials
  • High capacity extractors to remove significant amounts of water faster
  • Cavity extractors to reach moisture hidden beneath other materials

Resolving other issues such as soiling, staining, and odors also require the appropriate resources. Our technicians capitalize on timing and the use of superior cleaning products to address any problem conclusively.

Arriving on the same day of the incident, and if possible within the first four hours of the loss, allows our team to initiate mitigation processes that stop some problems before they develop. For instance, heightened moisture in a house leads to microbial growth processes, which is one reason for unpleasant odors. The evaporating moisture from standing water increases the humidity levels, making such odors more profound. Beginning moisture management processes, such as setting up dehumidifiers around the property, limits odor issues by curtailing moisture action.

Which problems are likely to recur after mitigating water damage?

  • Proliferation of microbes
  • Heating issues
  • Electrical or ventilation system issues

Some of the problems caused by water intrusion are not readily discernible. Some like microbial development might happen in hidden areas such as the interior spaces of walls or subfloors. Others like loss of insulation R-value might only be noticed through changes in utility bills. Despite the challenges posed by such issues, the mitigation process you perform after water intrusion into your home should address them.

Our SERVPRO technicians have vast experience dealing with water intrusion incidents, thus equipping us with information on how to identify hidden issues or anticipate future problems. For instance, we check the type of insulation you have in the walls left wet by the incident. Insulation works by having a low rate of heat conductivity. However, once saturated water occupies the air spaces in insulating material, thus increasing heat conductivity and thus diminishing the effectiveness of insulation by up to 40%. With the right drying resources, our technicians can remove all moisture traces from the insulation, thus restoring its effectiveness. However, this only works for some varieties of insulation, such as fiberglass, since cellulose compacts when wet, leading to irreversible damage.

How does SERVPRO manage to address all hidden problems?

  • Deep probing of all sections of the property
  • Opening up hidden areas
  • Relying on patterns established in previous incidents

Most of the problems that recur after a water intrusion incident can be traced to issues you fail to discover when restoring water damage. Our technicians preempt such an outcome by thoroughly inspecting the property. Where necessary, we open up wall panels and ceiling to trace damages. We also use advanced equipment such as thermal cameras to identify wet materials tucked away in cavities without tearing down overlying materials. We can also anticipate problem areas because we have sufficient experience dealing with similar incidents in other properties.

SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland provides conclusive solutions after water loss incidents. Call us at (954) 973-4130 when you need help. We're Faster To Any Size Disaster.

Can SERVPRO Save Our Conference Room Furniture During Mold Removal?

10/13/2020 (Permalink)

SERVPRO Removes the Moisture Source, then the Mold Colonies from Walls and Offices in Coral Springs

Coral Springs Business Owners Want To Rescue Their Furniture from Mold Damage

If you have a medium to large-sized business in Coral Springs, chances are you have a meeting or conference room on site. A conference room is an ideal place to gather your team together and discuss ideas or make decisions.

Unfortunately, any part of your business environment can need mold removal in Coral Springs, including the conference room. Mold is a fungus that can grow wherever it has a food source, oxygen, darkness, and moisture. Your conference room contains several sources of food, such as:

  • Wooden tables and chairs, especially older or untreated items
  • Upholstered seats
  • Metal furniture frames – although metal is not a food course, deposits of grime or dust can cause mold growth on metal surfaces

What can SERVPRO do to save conference furniture?

Our technicians can use scrubbing, antimicrobial products, and powerful HEPA vacuums to remove mold and spores from wood and metal. We can also use spot-cleaning to deal with damaged upholstery. In some cases, we might use hydraulic Esporta washing or ultrasonic tank immersion – these are especially useful for blinds and drapes or small items.

We can also remediate mold around the walls and ceiling of the conference room.

We set up containment barriers with poly sheeting around your meeting room or storage area before we begin to discourage the spores from spreading throughout your office.

What should our staff do?

Before and during mold removal, please ensure your staff:

  • Do not try to clean the mold
  • Do not walk through the affected room unless it is unavoidable
  • Listen to our instructions about when it is safe to enter

Can you prevent the mold from coming back?

We can dry out your room and furnishings before we leave, to make it more difficult for mold to propagate. The best thing you can do is ensure your conference furniture is kept in a dry place, where mold cannot grow. You might use a dehumidifier, or even invest in a thermo-hygrometer to keep an eye on humidity levels. The obvious is to keep the humidity at a comfortable level with HVAC usage.

We deodorize both the furniture and the room at the end of remediation, to leave your business Certified: SERVPRO Cleaned.

What Can Coral Springs Homeowners Do to Prepare for Flooding?

9/27/2020 (Permalink)

SERVPRO at (954) 973-4130 stands ready to assist local property owners in the cleanup of any size flood damage in their homes.

Actions homeowners take before a flood in their Coral Springs home can make the difference in the outcome when SERVPRO mitigates the loss

Coral Springs homeowners regularly deal with intense storms, including hurricanes. With these strong systems, flash flooding is frequently part of the problem. There are some things that homeowners can do before the damage from flooding is an issue such as:
    •    Elevating electrical items on the floor such as strip plugs and electrical devices such as computers, stereos, and appliances
    •    Direct the flow of water away from your property by elevating the grade as needed on your landscape
    •    Investing in environmental monitoring that can alert you to elevations in moisture throughout your home can allow you to act quickly if water does enter
    •    Clean debris and leaves from your gutters around your home, and invest in gutter covers if feasible
    •    Make a list of valuables, copies of prescriptions, and essential papers and place them in a secure, waterproof lockbox in a place you can grab it quickly if you need to evacuate

How Does Mold Show Up So Rapidly After Flood Damage?
Once flood damage occurs in your Coral Springs home, under most circumstances, you have roughly 48 hours before mold colonies have the potential also to be an issue. SERVPRO technicians have extensive training in handling mold as an added challenge during floodwater extraction and drying in a property. This SERVPRO has a mold remediation certification #MRSR2994 and has the equipment and methods to turn around a mold infestation. The reason this time frame is so crucial is that the elevated humidity levels from the floodwater along with the warm Florida temps create an ideal environment for naturally occurring mold spores to germinate and begin to spread. The techs know what the initial setup of a mold infestation looks like along with the early warning signs such as:
    •    Water spots on walls may harbor mold growth on the interior
    •    Visible mold colonies
    •    Musty odors

What Happens to Flood and Mold Damaged Building Materials?
There are a few different outcomes for the sheetrock and flooring in a home with damage from floodwater.
    •    Items that absorb floodwater and cannot get sanitized need disposal
    •    SERVPRO techs cut off the minimum amount of sheetrock needed to limit the number of repairs needed and save as much cost on replacement building materials as possible
    •    Carpet needs extraction to get rid of the water-weight and then gets cut into strips and disposed of
    •    Most types of tile and laminate flooring delaminate after exposure to floodwater. Ceramic tile with sealed grout lines tends to have the least amount of seepage into the substrate and often gets restored for reuse
    •    Hardwood floorboards have varied outcomes depending on the amount of exposure to water the boards received

After extracting the water from the home and drying it, the techs prepare the property for the needed repairs. Controlled demolition is a standard part of restoration after damage from floodwater. Often it is easiest for homeowners to choose to work with SERVPRO on both the restoration and rebuilding needed to bring the home to the same condition as it was before the floodwater entered.

This SERVPRO has a contractor license #CBC1261730 and can perform the needed repairs. One of the most significant benefits of letting the people who managed the cleanup of your property do the rebuilding know exactly what actions were taken and what is needed to restore the home. Many homeowners take the opportunity during the reconstruction to choose new carpet, the updated color palette for the walls, and other cosmetic options to upgrade the look of their house. Before any reconstruction efforts begin, SERVPRO communicates with your insurance carrier to ensure that all actions taken are part of the scope of coverage, so there are no surprise out of pocket expenses.

How Do the Musty Odors of Floodwater Get Removed?
While the extraction of the water and drying the structure go a long way to reducing the odor, frequently, it does not get eliminated until the application of more robust methods. Two of the most commonly used are the use of thermal fogging and hydroxyl generators. Both of these devices work to remove odors at the molecular level rather than only covering them up temporarily, such as in the use of sprays.

SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland at (954) 973-4130 stands ready to assist local property owners in the cleanup of any size flood damage in their homes. The techs arrive quickly and can handle the restoration as well as the reconstruction of your home to make it “Like it never even happened.”

Can Exposed Beams In a Farmhouse Be Saved After Fire Damage?

9/18/2020 (Permalink)

Kitchen fires can happen at any time. Contact SERVPRO for fire damage remediation services.

Parkland Homes Are Restored to Pre-Loss Condition with Proper Fire Damage Mitigation.

A fire does not have to be all-consuming to impact your Parkland home. A Kitchen fire is the most common cause of residential blazes. This is what caused the fire that damaged the exposed beams in this farmhouse kitchen. Professional fire mitigation ensures proper cleanup and restoration.

How Can Soot Be Removed from The Exposed Beams?

You built your kitchen around the beautiful wood and exposed beams to reflect the rustic look you love. Then a kitchen fire causes some charring and soot damage to the beams. To properly handle the fire damage to the Parkland residence, SERVPRO gets called in. Not only were the wood structural elements impacted, but smoke residue had spread throughout the kitchen. Other areas were affected as well. One of the techniques used in situations like this is dry ice blasting.

What Does Dry Ice Blasting Do?

Dry ice blasting is perfect in situations like this as it is a gentle, non-abrasive cleaning method. It is a dry process that involves the use of C02 pellets.  When the pellets hit the surface, they dissipate instantly. In this case, avoiding the use of steel brushes, scapers, and other blasting methods is preferred to save the look of the exposed beams. Dry ice blasting has many benefits, including:

  • Eco-friendly – No harsh chemicals get used, and the entire process is non-toxic.
  • Water free – Pressure washing could be used but would introduce water to the scene. No water involved in this process.
  • No waste disposal – No extra waste is produced by this method.
  • Simple cleanup – Sweeping or vacuuming typically takes care of the soot waste that falls to the floor.
  • Saves time & money  – Quicker than traditional methods; it means lower labor cost.

Fire Damage Restoration

SERVPRO provides comprehensive fire restoration services. Our technicians are well-trained in fire damage mitigation. They can restore exposed beams in many situations as well as remove smoke residue and unpleasant odors. The contents of the home can often be cleaned, repaired, and restored.Contact SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland at (954) 973 - 4130 for quality fire damage service. We are licensed and bonded—Contractor Licenses: Commercial: CBC1261730 and Mold Remediation: MRSR2994.

What Does Controlled Demolition Mean for My Water Damaged Parkland Home?

9/13/2020 (Permalink)

Water can leak in your home in unseen places and cause major damage. Contact SERVPRO 24/7 for professional mitigation and remediation services.

Strategies Designed to Release Fluids and Facilitate Drying, Remove, or Adapt Building Materials During Water Removal in Parkland Do Their Job Before Build Back by SERVPRO Professionals

Amid the chaos of a water loss in Parkland, the last thing you might expect is the restorers' decision to increase the mess by drilling and cutting holes in various building materials and sawing out sections of drywall. Gaining an understanding of the ways and places water migrates after a loss helps clarify why these seemingly extreme measures are sometimes necessary to rid your home of liquids and lingering moisture.

Why Do Water Damage Removal Professionals Track Water After a Leak or Overflow?

After plumbing ruptures or appliance malfunctions, water removal in your Parkland home is not as simple as mopping up the visible fluids. Water always spreads out unless contained in a completely watertight vessel. In a home, this means it moves across the floor and percolates through cracks and crevices. This migration means water invades areas, often unseen building cavities, of your home far from the original emergency site. As the water wanders, it also soaks into permeable structural materials widespread in conventional construction such as:

  • Drywall
  • Insulation
  • Subfloors, typically constructed of unfinished plywood
  • Laminate flooring

What Happens if the Water Is Not Removed?

SERVPRO's decision to maintain a robust and certified construction division is based in part on the critical need to find and release trapped water and permit efficient structural drying. When water hides and lingers, materials affected swell and distort, losing strength and impairing function. Secondary damage, like mold growth, is possible after only 24 to 48 hours. Our construction crew assists our Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) crews by:

  • Drilling or cutting a series of smaller holes in drywall or lath and plaster near the floor to drain water (prying up woodwork first)
  • Drilling holes in mortar joints in cinder block and brick construction to liberate fluids collected in cells
  • Sawing "flood cuts" several inches above the waterline between studs where drywall is wet and needs removal
  • Repairing and building back structures after the controlled demolition

Our construction division offers excellent flexibility when SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland plans water removal and drying. Call us at  (954) 973-4130 to explore your options after water damage.

Who Can I Call for Holiday Water Damage Cleanup for My Business?

8/26/2020 (Permalink)

SERVPRO professionals are trained to handle every level of water damage. Call us today, we are always available.

SERVPRO techs are available 24/7 to handle any size commercial water damage in your Coral Springs property.

Frustration does not even begin to touch how you feel when you find out your commercial property in Coral Springs needs water cleanup after hours or during a holiday. The longer water sits, the more it degrades, and the more serious the potential damage to the building materials and contents. There are often repairs needed post-restoration; however, SERVPRO can handle both the mitigation as well as any repairs required to bring the property back to how it was before the water incident happened.

What Types of Commercial Water Damage Repair Can SERVPRO Handle?

When you need commercial water damage repair in your Coral Springs property, there is very little that the trained technicians cannot do for you. Typical actions during water mitigation in the business might include:

  • Extraction of the water
  • Controlled demolition of ruined building materials
  • Drying the premises
  • Move out of stock items to a safe area
  • Arranging for testing of electronics affected by water before reuses
  • Needed structural repairs to the building to make it safe for operations

Essential Questions to Ask a Restoration Services Company Before You Make a Choice

When it comes to getting your commercial property cleaned up and restored so you can get your daily operations back to normal, there are many questions to ask a potential restoration services company to ensure you pick the best fit.

Standard inquiries might include some of the following:

  • Are you licensed as a general contractor?
  • Do the technicians on your staff hold certifications in the restoration sciences?
  • Is there any type of warranty or guarantee for the work done?
  • Will you work with my insurance carrier?

SERVPRO does all of these actions and more. The certified technicians undergo not only comprehensive training but also continuing education as advancements get made in the restoration industry.

Controlled demolition is a prevalent part of the water cleanup process. When a pipe breaks or rainwater leaks in from a damaged roof, the building materials can bear the brunt of the issue. Water wicks rapidly into sheetrock, and it deteriorates quickly, requiring the removal of the saturated portion to halt any further damage. SERVPRO techs use a technique known as "flood cuts" to remove only the ruined part and leave the rest of the wall or ceiling intact.  Removal of only the damaged portion makes the repairs go much faster as only pieces of sheetrock need to get cut and fit into the opened areas rather than entire walls or ceilings. Seepage of water is another frequently seen issue. Once the water is under the floor covering, it can delaminate tile, ruin the backing of industrial carpeting, and harbor mold if the conditions are right.

Mold Treatment and Prevention

With their mold remediation training and certification #MRSR2994, SERVPRO techs know the early warning signs of an infestation as well as how to handle it or preventative measures that can get taken to avoid it happening at all. When the techs arrive, they scope the property, and particularly in the case of a long term leaking problem, they look for signs of mold colony growth. The techs have access to the necessary equipment and to both EPA-registered and professional-strength antimicrobial cleaning agents and sealants to combat any size mold issue.

When walls need cutting or subfloor needs exposing to dry a property post-water damage, there is a certain amount of rebuilding and repairs that can be expected to occur. With their commercial general contractor license #CBC1261730, the techs not only know how to open up a property for complete drying, but they also know how to do it in a minimally invasive way to limit the number of repairs needed to restore the business. Additional actions to prep the company for reopening include odor control methods to get rid of musty water odors and cosmetic applications such as painting walls that got repaired.

Moving out items, particularly electronics and stock items, is another standard part of the water cleanup process. The techs establish either a safe area within the building getting worked on, or set up a secure pod on-site. Once the mitigation efforts complete, they bring the articles back in and put each item back in its place, so when the business reopens, there is zero confusion about where anything is.

Flood Mitigation in Coral Springs Homes

8/18/2020 (Permalink)

Flooding conditions can happen with little warning after a violent storm system passes through the area.

Natural flooding can threaten the entire main floor of a Coral Springs residence simultaneously, requiring efficient mitigation and flood removal.

Widespread flooding conditions in Coral Springs homes present immediate threats to the property, including saturation and absorption of potential contaminants. From the penetration points in a single-story structure, water can spread quickly through the main foyer and open areas of the property, reaching even the farthest points when no obstructions prevent this migration. Mitigation for these flooding conditions is critical and involves multiple tools and technologies to gain control of a rapidly worsening situation.

The extraction of flood damage in Coral Springs homes falls primarily to the ratings of gallons per minute or hour. Submersible pumps offer a universal flood removal approach with the highest volumes of discharge continually. Wet vacuums are also valuable extraction devices for depths that are shallower than two inches, where submersible pumps often lose the prime necessary for continued water removal. Saturated elements like flooring can benefit from specialty equipment designed to pull moisture and trapped water from carpets, wood plank flooring, and other materials. Even if controlled demolition is necessary, water removal must happen first. Some of these devices include:

    •    Light Wands
    •    Weighted Extractors
    •    Carpet Wands
    •    Floor Drying Mats

Do Exposed Flooring Materials Require Removal?

Contaminants pose a substantial threat to the house's occupants, precisely because bacterial and viral pathogens can exist in the intruding floodwater. It is often easier and more cost-efficient to remove exposed materials and structural elements than to thoroughly clean and dry these areas.

Flooding conditions can happen with little warning after a violent storm system passes through the area. Many look to the fast response and industry-leading equipment of our SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland team to begin flood mitigation immediately. Give us a call whenever disasters strike at (954) 973-4130.

Why Can’t I Clean Up After a Small Electrical Fire in Coral Springs?

8/13/2020 (Permalink)

At SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland, We’re Faster to Any Size Disaster!

SERVPRO Has the Proven Fire Restoration Methods to Bring Your Coral Springs Home Back to Normal Once Again

While you may not give the electrical work in your home much thought until there is an issue, fires involving these systems are some of the most common. Rather than having an electrician come out after you try cleaning it on your own, SERVPRO has the industry knowledge on best practices for handling the restoration. We can make sure the interior of your Coral Springs home is back to preloss condition faster than any DIY methods can achieve. With our Commercial Contractor License, we can perform most repairs and replacements of structural elements and fixtures.

Why Do I Have to Worry About Further Dangers or Damage?

Even once the fire is extinguished, you run the risk of further damage and hazards trying to execute the cleanup on your own. SERVPRO can help with fire restoration in Coral Springs, especially addressing areas you may not have thought of. Some of the most common causes of electrical incidents in the home include:

    •    Overloaded circuits
    •    Faulty or old wiring
    •    DIY home electrical work
    •    Damaged power cables or devices

It is vital that you call SERVPRO as soon as possible to get started with the restoration process. The longer ash and smoke residue remain, the more damage may develop. The soot and smoke are acidic, which can lead to corrosion over time. These odors can permeate and become difficult to remove without invasive measures.

As part of our fire restoration efforts, we can clean your carpeting, upholstered furniture, walls, and other surfaces affected by smoke and soot residue. The goal is always to restore rather than replace whenever possible. Everything is deodorized and left to ensure your interior is “Like it never even happened.”

At SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland, We’re Faster to Any Size Disaster! Call us 24/7 when you need our emergency fire restoration services at (954) 973-4130.

How Many Different Contractors Do I Need for Restoration of Fire Damage in Coral Springs?

7/27/2020 (Permalink)

We’re Faster to Any Size Disaster!

Streamline Your Fire Damage Restoration by Partnering with SERVPRO in Coral Springs

The sheer number of tasks that need planning and implementing after a Coral Springs household fire can be staggering. It is hard to imagine that the destruction and mess will ever be set to rights. Expecting to find all of the expertise and equipment needed to make a complicated fire disaster “Like it never even happened,” from just one company might seem impossible. With our focus on the training and experience of our well-equipped employees, we are sure we can deliver outstanding results on all fronts.

Does the Fire Restoration Industry Follow a Set Protocol?

Fire damage restoration in Coral Springs, as elsewhere, must proceed within the confines of local regulations, but it is also guided by standards set by the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC). The theories and skills taught by the IICRC are encyclopedic in nature, but are not static, developing continuously as research contributes to the knowledge base and innovative equipment offers better and faster results.

What Are the First Things Needing Management in a Fire Restoration Project?

SERVPRO always puts safety first when arriving to assess any fire disaster. Our responsibility is to thoroughly scope out the scene to locate safety concerns and then address each appropriately before commencing emergency and restoration services. Although fire restoration projects share commonalities, every job has differences, so we must familiarize ourselves with:

    •    Electrical and other utility systems and configuration
    •    Electric shock or oil or gas leakage risks
    •    Structural or material damage
    •    Particular building materials present, including hazards such as
    •    Asbestos
    •    Lead (including as paint)
    •    Information about any off-gassing during combustion
    •    Current category (level of contamination) of any firefighting water present
    •    Slip, trip, and fall risks

How Are Safety Hazards Managed During Fire Damage Restoration?

After assessment of the hazards, the following issues, if deemed concerns need controls:

    •    Electrical and other utility lines might require temporary shut off
    •    Damaged structural components may need removal or temporary support by our construction division
    •    Hazardous material mandate containment, removal, and lawful disposal by our certified biohazard removal technicians
    •    Air quality worries require the use of negative pressure air scrubbers and wearing of respirators by technicians

Water Is Mentioned Frequently -- What Is In the Project Plan for Water Issues?

The two primary focuses of our business are water and fire disaster restoration. Many of our team members hold IICRC certifications in both disciplines. We move on water removal before fire cleanup because of the severe safety issues, and because even uncontaminated water is incredibly corrosive to building materials. Our crews concentrate on the following, clearing the space, before moving to fire residue cleaning:

    •    Water removal with pumps and extractors
    •    Contaminated water containment and lawful disposal
    •    Inhibition of microbial growth with EPA-registered antimicrobials
    •    Structural drying

How Do Restoration Workers Choose Fire Residue Removal Strategies?

Training again steps forward, preparing our IICRC-certified Fire and Smoke Restoration Technicians (FSRT) to evaluate the residues and select the most efficacious products and methods to clean them from surfaces. Complicating this step is that as the fire moved through your home, the materials consumed, and conditions during the burning varied. The characteristics of the sooty coatings, thus, also vary, space by space. Sometimes one room can have several different kinds of soot to manage. Our FRSTs proceed to clean up the residues as follows:

    •    Preliminary determination of the type of soot -- dry, wet, or protein-based
    •    Testing of products and methods in inconspicuous spots
    •    Implementation of the chosen strategies, diligently moving from surface to surface until all are clean and ready for additional restorative efforts

Can One of the Crews Work on Deodorization?

If despite deep cleaning and air scrubbers smells linger, we offer a multitude of deodorization options. Although we have proprietary products that mask and distract smells, we prefer to work toward elimination. Some of the advanced approaches we employ that can clean hard to reach areas or chemically alter and neutralize the odor-bearing particles in your home include:

    •    HVAC ductwork cleaning
    •    Thermal fogging
    •    Ozone machines
    •    Hydroxyl generators
    •    Enzymatic products

Do I Need to Hire a Remodeling Contractor to Repair Damaged and Missing Structures?

Once the water and the residues are gone, damage to building materials can remain. Our construction teams are ready to help with a wide range of repair and build-back needs:

    •    Repair or replace wall and ceiling materials damaged or demolished to gain access to wet building cavities or hidden (and malodorous) debris
    •    Removal and replace porous materials like insulation, carpets, and padding
    •    Rebuilding of weakened or destroyed framing, floors, stairs, railings, and many more

Building a company that reveals strength after strength in the disaster restoration business has been SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland's goal and pledge to our community. We are committed to guiding every customer back to preloss condition, regardless of project complexity. Call (954) 973-4130 to explore what we can do for you.

SERVPRO Techs Have All the Answers for Cleaning up and Restoring Your Coral Springs Home From Water Loss

The chances of lessening loss to your home and contents work in your favor if you take two steps. The first is to begin the cleanup as rapidly as possible after the initial incident, and the second is to bring in professional help. There are a few things you should nail down before you decide on a restoration services company. Good questions to ask include:

  • Are your employees trained and certified?
  • Do you work with my insurance?
  • How do you handle out of the scope of coverage needs?
  • Do you get approval before the disposal of loss items?

Can Water Restoration Companies Handle a Cleanup With Sewage?

When your damage problem includes sewage in your Coral Springs home, not all water restoration companies have the training and experience to mitigate this kind of loss. Specific elements SERVPRO techs do during this kind of cleanup entail:

  • Testing the water for the presence of bacteria or pathogens
  • Extraction and safe disposal of the water
  • Disinfection of the loss area

When Mold is Part of the Problem

Mold can become an issue if conditions become favorable for mold spore germination and growth. Once established, the colonies can spread rapidly and require professional attention to ensure the infestation gets removed and does not come back. SERVPRO techs have comprehensive training in all aspects of mold remediation #MRSR2994 and know the early warning signs of a mold colony setting up home within the property. They have the equipment to contain, dry, and perform abatement. Afterward, if needed, the techs can treat the loss area with antimicrobial sealants to keep the mold from returning.

What Is the Plan to Repair the Holes Cut in the Walls of My Retail Space by Restorers?

7/17/2020 (Permalink)

SERVPRO Says Strategic Drying with Advanced Equipment Can Reduce Build Back for Flood Damaged Properties in Coral Springs

Strategies to Remove Hidden Moisture Can Cause Temporary Disruption, but SERVPRO’s Rebuilding Division Steps in With Expert Water Damage Repair in Coral Springs

A common complication of a plumbing leak in Coral Springs retail property is coping with the water that collects in building cavities as it migrates away from the source. Out of sight cannot be out of mind when water remains in any space of your commercial building. The water continues its corrosive destruction of structural components and can also set up the perfect environment for damaging mold growth.

How Is Hidden Water Located and Managed?

For the successful completion of water damage repair projects in Coral Springs commercial buildings often require some form of planned and controlled demolition. If you have never dealt with a severe water crisis before, this type of response can seem radical. Mid-implementation, you understandably wonder why these strategies are “go-tos” for professional restorers. Generally speaking, removing water is preferable to the extended and frankly ineffective drying options available if materials are not altered or removed to enhance mitigation. Here are examples of a controlled demolition, and the reasoning behind the actions:

  • Weep holes punched through bulges in ceilings and walls -- to release trapped water before a structure collapses
  • Cut or drilled holes behind baseboards or beadboard -- to drain water pooled near the bottom of a cavity between walls and allow airflow for drying
  • Removal of toe kicks under built-in cabinets -- to gain access to space under a fixture where water has collected for extraction and drying
  • Flood cuts -- drywall cut parallel to the floor several inches above the flood line to remove damaged building materials and open up cavities for extraction and drying
  • Injecti-dry equipment for positive or negative airflow into voids

Who Repairs the Demolition Aftermath?

Our SERVPRO maintains a general commercial contractor’s license to offer high-quality rebuilding services to customers lawfully. Commercial: CBC1261730 and Mold Remediation: MRSR2994. Replacing drywall, filling holes, and reinstalling trim and panelling are services we choose to take responsibility for providing as part of the overall restoration project. Save time, expense, and stress by having all needed skilled interventions from one reputable and reliable contractor. Let's keep your business in business!

How Quickly Should Floodwater Get Cleaned Up In Coral Springs?

6/28/2020 (Permalink)

From start to finish, the team at SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland can handle your flood damage needs.

To Prevent Expensive Secondary Damage to Your Coral Springs Home, SERVPRO Suggests Fast Action with Skilled Flood Damage Techniques

Even if you have merely an inch or two of floodwater coming into your home, the damage can be immense if you do not act quickly. Water flooding in from a storm contains a variety of debris that can include mud, chemicals, fuel, and even fecal matter. This situation can turn into an unhealthy atmosphere for your family and any pets within the home, which calls for expert restoration. Our team at SERVPRO offers professional restoration services to remove water, clean your belongings, and restore your Coral Springs interior to preloss condition.

How Do I Know Where to Begin?

You can leave the planning and determining each phase of the cleanup to our crew after you call us to handle your flood damage in Coral Springs. We suggest that you move inhabitants and pets into another area of the home away from the water loss zone. If you plan on leaving and staying off-site during the cleanup, we offer board up services to cover any damaged doors and windows to keep anyone from making their way inside. In some situations, the use of security tape helps to mark off the perimeter and prevent others from entering.

Will Items Be Moved Out of My Home?

We do offer pack-out services when necessary. Our crew is detailed and careful when packing up and moving belongings to avoid breakage. We also keep an accurate inventory of all contents getting transferred, for your records and ours.

There are some alternatives to a full pack-out when you call us for flood damage restoration, including:

•    Partial Pack-Out – If your property is secure and safe, some items might get stored away from the affected area, such as a garage or outbuilding. Our team can move small items off-site for cleaning while storing larger items on your property. Any refrigerators or freezer units should never be unplugged for an extended period, so the storage of food items must be planned for accordingly.
•    Content Cleaning Before Moving – In some cases, we may be able to clean items before they get packed up and moved out. This reduces the steps where we would otherwise have to unpack things, clean them, re-pack them, and re-shelve at our warehouse. Tackling cleaning onsite also helps lessen handling times and the potential for damage.

Overall, the main goal is to execute prompt mitigation followed by demolition and drying so that we can restore your home to preloss condition. Our crew will adjust plans for pack-outs and moving everything accordingly so that we can reach our goals within the desired time frame.

How Much Equipment Do You Need?

SERVPRO follows a unique formula that allows us to determine the right equipment for the job and how many units are needed. We factor the following into our calculations:

•    We position air movers carefully to facilitate drying by enhanced airflow over every wet surface.
•    The number of air movers for each product help strike a balance with drying equipment. Not enough air movers mean a slower drying time.
•    Boosting the number of air movers within the loss zone puts more moisture into the environment. This helps the dehumidification equipment to pull out more moisture every hour.
•    All of this is done while carefully monitoring relative humidity levels. Secondary damage can occur if humidity levels stay high for too long within the home.

Depending on your project, our crew may set up what is known as drying zones. These drying zones are helpful when trying to get the most out of our industrial-grade equipment. Within a drying zone, SERVPRO can easily control:

•    Temperature
•    Humidity
•    Airflow

These three elements play a significant role in the rate of evaporation throughout the drying zone. We create each zone by putting up plastic sheeting or closing doors and windows to seal off openings between the flood zone and unaffected spaces within your home.

Do I Need to Worry About Mold?

With any water loss event, there is the potential for mold and mildew growth. Our team works rapidly to eliminate the onset of secondary damage, which includes bacterial and microbial growth. Mold spores are present at all times, yet they remain dormant until they have the right environment to thrive. Fast action after flood loss allows us to halt the spread and multiplication of these spores.

•    We utilize EPA-registered anti-microbial agents to treat the worksite before we begin.
•    Our crew looks for mold throughout the restoration process and treats it accordingly.
•    If we note that a mold colony begins to spread, we add a more detailed mold remediation phase to our flood recovery efforts.

From start to finish, the team at SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland can handle your flood damage needs. To have a crew deployed to your home after storm flooding, call us 24/7 at (954) 973-4130.

Why Should I Hire a Professional Restoration Company After Fire Damage to My Coral Springs Home?

6/17/2020 (Permalink)

Fire damage to your Coral Springs home can be devastating, let SERVPRO be there to help you.

Engaging the SERVPRO Team Ensures that Prompt and Professional Interventions Return the Integrity of the Building Materials of Your Coral Springs Home Safely and Completely

The fire damage suffered by your Coral Springs home has no parallel to ordinary soiling and wear and tear. Failing to respond fast and appropriately to the water and smoke and soot residues exposes your home to the risk of ongoing deterioration and significant secondary damage. Unless you happen to be a fire damage restoration professional, it is highly unlikely you can assess or intervene appropriately.

What Makes Fire Damage Different and a Professional Response Required?

After a blaze rages through your Coral Springs house, fire restoration is complicated by the firefighting efforts used to quell the flames. Removal of contaminated water and extinguishing chemicals must precede fire debris and residue remediation. The effects of water are as destructive as those of soot and charring, and also present safety risks such as electrical shock or structural collapse from trapped fluids. Water and fire residues are:

  • Contaminated with toxic substances created by high heat and the acts of combustion
  • Capable of spreading hazards through fluids and in the air
  • Difficult to remove promptly and safely without specialized training, tools, products, and equipment

Could I Manage the Cleanup Over Time?

Although you could try to gather the resources and learn the strategies needed to complete the restoration as a DIY project, the time frame to remedy the situation without permanent damage is incredibly short. SERVPRO sends a crew of managers and technicians to your home because both water and fire damage effects begin immediately. The more time it takes to clean up the water and soot, the more profoundly the building materials, fixtures, and contents of your home sustain long-term damage.

The team at SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland can mobilize fast after a fire at your home, mitigating the ongoing destruction and remediating the damage to restore your abode “Like it never even happened.” Call us at  (954) 973-4130 before the firefighters wrap up their work to get our team on the job fast.

Should I Be Worried About Water in My Crawlspace?

6/9/2020 (Permalink)

Summer rains can case water to enter your crawlspace. SERVPRO has the experience to restore your home.

Let Our SERVPRO Experts in Coral Springs Take Care of Little Problems Before They Become Big Ones

Even a small amount of water in the crawlspace under your Coral Springs home can lead to big problems. Any moisture that is allowed to remain can cause damage. It is only a matter of time before something happens. Why not head off problems by letting our mitigation team take care of it now?

What causes water to accumulate in a crawlspace?

There are different reasons water damage can happen in your Coral Springs residence. Seeing water in your crawlspace, even a small amount, can mean hidden problems. Some of these can include:

  • Poor drainage
  • High water table
  • Heavy rainfall
  • Cracked walls
  • Leaking pipes

Small Problems Can Lead to Big Ones

Because your crawlspace sits on top of your foundation, any standing water is an issue. What may seem minor on inspection can lead to foundation issues that can make the home inhabitable. Here are some things you do not want to deal with:

  • Over time crawlspace moisture can cause water damage to your supporting beams and the concrete foundation.
  • Pests of all sorts love warm, damp locations.
  • It can lead to mold growth.
  • A hidden pipe link can lead to a burst pipe, causing more extensive damage.

By calling in SERVPRO emergency mitigation experts, you can prevent these small issues from doing severe water damage. Our Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) technicians get trained to look for even the slightest water loss. We move swiftly to remove the water flow and moisture. Our techs track the moisture to its source and take steps to resolve the problem where it begins.

SERVPRO Comes to the Rescue at Your Coral Springs Business to Help with Commercial Water Damage Restoration

If you have a large office building in Coral Springs and water damage has spread throughout several areas, the water loss is often substantial. A situation like this always calls for professional restoration efforts, which is when we spring into action at SERVPRO. Whether you have bathroom flooding or a burst pipe, these are not routine cleaning jobs. We are Faster to Any Size Disaster, and our crew comes with all the tools and extensive training necessary to get the job done quickly and efficiently.

Will You Help with Water Removal as Well as Drying?

Your Coral Springs commercial water damage project comes with a tight timeframe before secondary damage sets in. Instead of trying to line up a range of contractors on your own to handle the cleanup, selecting one team that can do it all is the best route to take. We come with all the steps for:

  •   Packout services
  •   Water removal
  •   Drying
  •   Controlled Demolition
  •   Cleaning, sanitizing, and deodorizing

What Experience Do You Have?

Once you call us for water damage restoration, you can count on a skilled crew of technicians to arrive promptly so that the assessment may begin. Our team carries multiple certifications via the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC). This prepares us to formulate a plan for mitigation while using best practices for remediation. Depending on your needs, we can scale our response to match the intensity and extent of the damage.

What Do We Do Until You Arrive?

There are multiple things to keep in mind once a water loss event occurs. Some of the things that you should avoid until we arrive includes:

  •   Avoid power sources if there is any wiring or electrical outlets that may have been impacted by water. If possible, you can consult with your maintenance team about turning off the power. Should your office space be a lease, it is a good idea to contact the property owner as soon as possible.
  •   Try to avoid rudimentary drying methods with fans, as they may only circulate moisture droplets that can lead to secondary damage. Our team has industrial strength drying and dehumidifying equipment that removes moisture from the air while pulling it from surfaces.
  •   Never delay when faced with water damage. Doing so could lead to structural concerns or the onset of mold and mildew in as little as 48 hours. Prompt mitigation helps cut down on costly repairs and losses.

What About the Electronics in Our Office?

There are many critical factors when it comes to preserving the electronics throughout your office space after a water loss incident. Our team takes a look at several factors:

  •   Did water drip on your electronics? It is important to assess not only the exterior of all electronics but also the inside to determine if each piece can be dried and cleaned.
  •   Was the electronic fully submerged? Items that have been underwater might not be salvageable due to circuit failure, heavy rust, or corrosion. We have content cleaning technicians that search for these signs while also taking note of the time and how much of the components were exposed. All items, salvageable or not, are removed and logged for insurance purposes.
  •   Has it been exposed to high humidity levels? The humidity in any office space after a water loss incident will increase dramatically. Electronics exposed to high humidity for any length of time is cause for concern.

NOTE: Our team can dry the exterior electronics covers, but we do not open any devices that contain circuitry and transistors. Whenever your electronics have been subjected to moisture, we can send them to a reliable third party dedicated to their inspection, cleaning, drying, and repair.

What is Secondary Damage?

Any moisture leftover after a water loss incident brings on the potential for secondary damage. After all of the water is removed from the space using extraction tools, pumps, and light wand extractors, our crew begins the moisture detection process. Water migrates using the path of least resistance to move onto drier spaces. We use moisture sensors and infrared technology to find hidden pockets of moisture so that nothing is left behind. When moisture is left to fester, it brings the potential for hazardous mold and mildew growth along with further damage to porous materials and structural components of the building.

Cleaning and Deodorizing

It is essential to leave the interior of your office in the preloss condition. Our team uses a range of EPA-registered cleaning agents and disinfectants that ensures all surfaces are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and deodorized. This not only ensures a clean result but also helps to inhibit the onset of odors.

What Tools Are Used to Dry Water-Damaged Structures?

4/26/2020 (Permalink)

SERVPRO technicians of Coral Springs is determined to fix your water damaged flooring

Our SERVPRO Professionals Use Efficient Drying Tools to Maximize Drying Goals in Coral Springs Homes.

The restoration of water damaged structures can often fall to the capable hands of our SERVPRO technicians. With cutting-edge tools and equipment and extensive experience in water restoration, we can offer efficient and focused attention to your Coral Springs home after a disaster occurs. From the removal of standing water on the floors to structural woes that could exist after prolonged exposure, we have a team of professionals to help.

Understanding the extent of water damage to Coral Springs homes is the start of recovery and restoration. Our experts can work directly with our customers to determine the extent of the damage and any pre-existing conditions. This evaluation can help in streamlining the drying approach by having our restorers focus on the materials and contents impacted directly by the water loss. Streamlining recovery saves customers time and money and can reduce the production of microbial threats.

What are Air Movers?

Understanding the drying process begins with an introduction to one of its most productive tools, the air mover. High-velocity fans like these can harness airflow to maximize drying efficiency along with the appropriate temperature and humidity.

Centrifugal Air Movers

We have hundreds of air movers in our inventory of recovery tools, and centrifugal units serve a specific purpose. These machines produce a powerful blast of concentrated air that can get directed at specific points in a damaged material or possession, allowing focused evaporative power on a specific point. These are turbine type devices for generating the prescribed circulation patterns.

• Low-Profile Air Movers

These same machines have a low-profile model that can help our professionals to reach challenging areas that might otherwise be impossible to dry. These units can also be the ideal choice when carpet floating is a beneficial drying approach for your flooring. Some have several different snouts that can be attached for specific force and patterns of air movement.

Axial Air Movers

These air movers are intended for broader use in open environments. They expel a substantial volume of air, allowing the increase of airflow throughout the entire affected area at once. Evaporation can increase even more when axial units get daisy-chained together by plugging one unit into the next to focus several machines on the same damaged area simultaneously. Often these can be placed at exit points to create a negative airflow as moist, interior air is channeled to the outside.

What Role Do Dehumidifiers Play in Drying?

Dehumidifiers have a straightforward role in the drying of damaged homes, especially with the effectiveness of air movers in the drying space. The evaporation of moisture in materials throughout a region of your house gets added to the humidity in the environment of the house. Dehumidifiers can condense this water vapor to reduce excessive relative humidity levels that can encourage the presence and spread of microbial threats along with secondary water damage to contents.

When Do Specialty Drying Tools Get Used?

There are many instances where air movers can still be effective and efficient in drying the house, but other specialty equipment might get the job done faster. Our SERVPRO team focuses on the quickest and most thorough drying practices, and that might include the use of several drying or extraction tools such as:

• Floor Mat Systems
Hard flooring systems like tile and wood planks can be challenging to dry and recover if water has absorbed into the material or gotten underneath it somehow. Drying mats can be vital for removing moisture from the floor and its subflooring materials without overly rapid removal that might damage wood plank floors.

• Positive Pressure Systems
Wall systems and structural cavities can be susceptible to migrating moisture like anywhere else in your home. Instead of immediately removing large portions of the drywall and other affected materials, it is possible to promote evaporation in these cavities with positive pressure systems. We can drill small holes behind the baseboard and feed air tubes into the wall at multiple points to force heated air into the space and dry it out. We can also drill small holes at the ceiling level to amplify air circulation within the wall cavities.

• Weighted Extractors
Weighted extractors are an ideal tool for use on carpeted floors as it forces moisture to the surface from both the carpet fibers and the padding simultaneously. An onboard vacuum removes this water before more direct drying practices can begin.

How Do I Clean After a Water Loss Incident?

• Residue and Soil Removal
Our professionals must often wipe down surfaces and clean up contents exposed to standing water and migrating loss effects after a disaster. We have a line of robust cleaning agents and chemicals that can restore the look and feel of materials and contents of your house.

• Carpet Cleaning
Excessive water loss emergencies can leave carpets worse for wear than ever before, but our premier cleaning practices can help. Through pre-conditioning treatments and hot water extraction cleaning, you can have the vitality of your carpet back.

• Deodorization
While odors are not always a hurdle after water losses, their presence can be unmistakable and challenging to live with when they do exist. We have numerous tools and products to help neutralize harsh odors, including thermal foggers and ozone machines. The key to odor control post-extraction is the establishment of preloss moisture content levels. Hidden water can and will produce malodors.

We can help your house feel like home again after a water loss. Give our SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland team a call today at (954) 973-4130.

How Does Smoke and Soot Spread in a Hotel?
Fire damage to Coral Springs hotels and event centers is not stagnant. HVAC systems operating during the blaze pull in the particles, vapors, and gases and spread them throughout the property. Heat from the fire creates air currents accelerating the drift of residues into hallways, common areas, and rooms far from the where the sire began.

What Are Ways Professionals Stop the Spread of Fire Residues?
Expect our SERVPRO project manager to discuss methods to contain the spread. We understand that you have reservations to honor and events to stage. Supporting your ability to meet your obligations to guests is essential to the viability of our community. We make recommendations designed to keep key spaces on your property open for business:

    •    Shutdown or rerouting of HVAC systems
    •    Prevents the venting of smoke and soot into unaffected spaces
    •    Containment of  restoration areas

Use of 1.6 mil polyethylene to build and negative pressure air scrubbers to seal the perimeter around where our crews clean and deodorize permits other areas of your property to operate as usual.

Pack-out of damaged contents
Moving out furnishings and fixtures such as carpeting to staging areas at our production facility or unused spaces on your commercial site allows our technicians to work more quickly and removes a significant source of soot and odors.

Who Can Help Me Rebuild?
Our commercial contractor license allows transition from cleaning and deodorizing to repairs and rehabbing without missing a beat. Wrap-around services streamline your journey to full recovery after fire damage.

Coral Springs Home--From Fire Loss to Build Back--Count on SERVPRO

Call SERVPRO for Fire Damage Cleanup and Build Back for Your Coral Springs Home

Fire Damage Restoration in Coral Springs

At this time of year, with its Western border being the Everglades, Coral Springs residents pay much closer attention to the dry weather with the increased risk of fire. Then, there are the year-round risks from faulty wiring, dirty dryer vent conduits, among others.

With a possible outside source, though, remediating Coral Springs fire damage means dealing with issues from the roof down to the kitchen linoleum. In this situation, SERVPRO restoration technicians engage in demolition, disposal, and cleaning of the structure, and engage in construction to either repair or replace damage to each home. Our Commercial Contractor License #: CBC1261730 indicates a wide range of build back capabilities.

In a previous incident, wind-borne sparks landed on a local residence. It set the roof on fire, which penetrated the attic and then down into the living room, kitchen, and two bedrooms. Technicians pulled burned drywall panels, ceiling tiles, plus wall and overhead framing. They also removed and disposed of carpets, linoleum, furniture, and appliances.

In the attic, the SERVPRO team pulled down the roof supports on the western side of the house and the roof over them. They disposed of it all, including the insulation contaminated with burned material and smoke residues.

Technicians then used a variety of cleaning agents to remove the smoke residues and other particles left by the fire. For areas of the home not physically affected, they used a mild cleaner to loosen them from surfaces and to remove them using sponges or cleaning cloths. For parts of the home closer to the physical destruction, they used stronger cleaners, which contained a deodorizing agent as well to eliminate the pungent odors accompanying the residues.

Team members then restored the home and rebuilt it where possible. They laid in new pads and carpeting in the bedrooms and living room. In the kitchen, they laid new linoleum and installed new appliances. For the roof, the damage was extensive enough that the owner’s insurance company required a licensed contractor.

After a fire, the goal of SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland is to return each home to its original condition before the disaster. If your home is here, Eagle Trace, Heron Bay, or North Springs, and requires our services, contact us immediately at (954) 973-4130. Our office is here for you.

Restorers Conducting Water Cleanup In Parkland Know That Carpets Can Be Constructed By Tufting

2/26/2020 (Permalink)

We work to improve the quality of your carpeting after a water event.

You Should Always Have a Plan For the Possibility of Water Damage in your Parkland Home

If liquid H2O ever builds up inside your Parkland residence, your carpets can become one of the first of your building materials to become negatively affected. Since your carpeting consists of porous fibers, it can absorb a large amount of moisture over a short period, and calling in a professional restoration company such as SERVPRO can quickly become a necessity. Restoring and cleaning carpets can prove to be both an art and a science.

Since our SERVPRO technicians receive training surrounding all aspects of conducting water cleanup in Parkland, we have what it takes to restore and clean negatively affected carpets. As a part of our practice, we all study how to best restore the different types of the carpet's construction. Having knowledge of the way manufacturers create flooring materials helps us figure out the best way to save and restore each type of carpet that exists inside your dwelling. For example, all carpets are made with some sort of fibers put together by a backing that is more often than not comprised of organic substances such as paper.

The most common type of carpet used these days are tufted, which means that tufting machines produce them. Tufted carpeting is popular because production with these building materials happens at a more rapid pace than other types. The creation of tufted carpets takes place at a rate that is ten to twenty times faster than trying to weave the fibers to produce the flooring material. Since producing tufted carpeting is so much quicker than other manufacturing methods, this type of flooring is substantially cheaper than different kinds of carpet.

The construction of a tufted carpet can be accurately compared to the composition of your average sandwich. This type of flooring consists of a face yarn layer, primary backing, a latex adhesive, and at times a secondary backing. The quality of each substance that makes up the carpet plays a role in the overall cleanability and ability to restore your flooring materials.

Restoring carpets can often require advanced skills and industry knowledge. When help from the professionals is inevitable, call SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland at (954) 973-4130 24/7.

Water Removal Processes In Coral Springs

2/23/2020 (Permalink)

“Like it never even happened.”

Minimizing Secondary Damages When Completing Water Removal Processes in Coral Springs

When there is a water spill in your property, there is a need to carry out removal fast to make the property habitable again. Sometimes damages occur during the removal process depending on how it is done. A professional restorer such as SERVPRO can help prevent unnecessary secondary damages during water removal.

Safe movement of items
Content movement during the water removal process in Coral Springs might be necessary, depending on how much water is involved. Some contents are heavy, and others are bulky or even fragile, so moving them can lead to damages. Our SERVPRO technicians take precautions to avoid damaging your valuables. We also have helpful devices such as hand trucks, which ease the movement of heavy or bulky items.

Preventing moisture transfer
Although the spilled water causes most of the damage, the moisture that evaporates into the air can transfer the damage to other sections of the property. Such damage occurs when condensation transforms the moisture back to liquid water. Alternatively, materials with hygroscopic properties can absorb moisture from the air leading to damages. Our SERVPRO technicians take actions that help prevent such outcomes. Immediately after arriving at the loss site, we set up a dehumidifier to help keep humidity at optimal levels preventing condensation or moisture absorption by hygroscopic materials such as drywall or other gypsum-based products.

Useful accessories
Fast water removal is possible with the right equipment. Most of the equipment, such as pumps and extractors, are highly sophisticated. However, they also require simple accessories for optimal performance. Our crews bring different accessories to the loss site to ensure the main equipment performs well. We have different types and lengths of hoses to guarantee we can reach the pools of water or targeted disposal point while maintaining the right lift capacity. We also have carpet and squeegee wands to ensure we do not damage surfaces when wet vacuuming to extract water.

Damages can happen when trying to save property after a water spill. Call SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland at (954) 973-4130 to manage the restoration of an incident at your property, making it, “Like it never even happened.”

Preventive Measures to Avoid Fire Damage from Candles in Coral Springs

Candles are a beautiful addition to any room. However, it is still an open flame and has the potential to cause fire damage. In fact, candles are responsible for around 8,200 residential fires each year, and most were preventable.

The following are a collection of tips for avoiding fire damage in Coral Springs homes from candle use. Also, what to do in case of fire loss.

Three Basic Rules for Candle Use

In a report published by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, over 80-percent of fires caused by candles were preventable if candle users followed these simple rules:
A burning candle should never be unattended
Be aware of flammable objects near burning candles
Ensure children and pets cannot reach burning candles

Safe Candle Tips

Before lighting a candle, always trim the wick to one-fourth of an inch. The reason for this is because too long wicks can be the source of flaring or uneven burning.

Using a candle holder constructed of heat-resistant materials and designed specifically for use with candles is another must-have. The placement of candles in a room is essential. A candle exposed to drafts, vents, or fans can have rapid burning, sooting, or excessive dripping. Most candles should burn four hours or less and wait at least two hours before relighting.

Common Causes of Candle Fires

When SERVPRO techs clean up and restore properties with fire damage loss caused by candles, some of the most typical reasons are leaving a candle burning unattended, or allowing a candle to burn down below half an inch of max in the holder, as this can cause the container to break and become a fire hazard.

If Fire Loss Occurs from a Candle

Once the fire department extinguishes the fire, bring in SERVPRO techs to restore the affected area of the home. Smoke damage and soot requires various methods and cleaning agents to release the grip of the residues on surfaces.

Post Fire Repairs

With their general contractor license #CBC1261730, SERVPRO can offer homeowners the full restoration of their properties after a fire loss. Including not only building materials but finishing touches such as painting walls or staining floors to return the home to its pre-fire condition.

SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland is available 24-hours at (954) 973-4130. Their technicians can clean up and restore any size fire damage and make it "Like it never even happened."

Our Experts Can Save Your Water And Mold Damaged Home In Coral Springs

1/12/2020 (Permalink)

Combat the primary and secondary effects of a water incident in your home.

Tackling Microbial Growth during Water Damage Restoration of your Coral Springs Home

Careful containment of a water issue can play a vital role in mitigating losses. By working methodically, you cannot only achieve a thorough restoration but keep replacement materials to a minimum. As a homeowner, containment may be as simple as closing or blocking doorways as well as moving light furniture or electronics away from the affected area. If you do decide to move items out of the affected area, laying down a protective covering to temporarily place items can reduce the risk of cross-contamination.

To efficiently tackle water damage in your Coral Springs home, you may want to focus first on preventing water migration. Water migration can lengthen the restoration task requiring complex equipping and invasive procedures to gain access to cavities or other areas. SERVPRO technicians can use light wand extractors to carefully dry the outer regions of a room and halt water migration. At the same time, the remaining moisture is dealt with using air movers or dehumidification.

Water incidents can exponentially increase the harm to your home over time because of microbes. Microbes are living organisms that can reproduce in wet conditions and cause permanent damage to the porous materials in your home environment. The most common microbial infestation is mold. However, bacteria and viruses can also be present in water. With temperature, water, and food supply, these microbial organisms can quickly grow out of control producing unpleasant odors or soiling on your contents.

Acting quickly to remove moisture is an effective preventative measure against microbial growth, but there are also deterrents and cleaning agents capable of destroying these contaminants. The restoration trucks SERVPRO use contain a full-range of chemical compounds to combat microbial growth. Disinfectants are useful in destroying microbial organisms. Anti-microbial compounds may also be necessary as a deterrent against future mold growth, which SERVPRO can apply to carpets and upholstery using pressure sprays or misters.

We Have The Training And Equipment To Handle Your Coral Springs Flood Damage

12/11/2019 (Permalink)

Our technicians use air movers along with dehumidifiers to target areas with higher moisture levels after flood damage hits a home.

Removing Floodwater to Begin Controlled Demolition in Coral Springs

Natural flooding can pose several threats to your Coral Springs home, and its direct effect on the composition of exposed materials is one of its highest. There are many instances where widespread flooding equates to a need for controlled demolition and reconstruction. To reach the point where controlled demolition can occur, our SERVPRO team must gain control of the situation through extraction and preliminary drying efforts.

Natural flooding scenarios present the possibility of contamination, as all manner of foreign substances, bacteria, and chemicals could exist with the flood damage in Coral Springs homes. Addressing these concerns is often a matter of preventative approaches, working to rebuild after exposure rather than clean and disinfect surfaces. Carpets, flooring, trim, drywall, and other porous materials are the most sensitive to the damage that contaminated water can do. Allowing these wet materials to stay in the house can amplify the production of microbial threats and present a hazardous situation that threatens the health of those exposed.

With standing water, especially situations where flash flooding or natural flooding has brought debris, mud, and sediment into your home, trash pumps are an ideal choice for extraction. These self-priming machines can manage both water and a moderate volume of debris and solids through a 4” or larger discharge hose. In most situations, we can attach this discharge directly to the sewer cleanout for the household to safely dispose of the contaminated water to a facility equipped to manage these flood damage threats.

With extraction and vacuuming complete, we can work on assessing the severity of saturated construction materials in the house. Establishing a dryline, especially in wall surfaces, can stop the wicking of moisture up the wall and remove potential catalysts for microbial and bacterial threats in the house our SERVPRO cleaning technicians must address. This work gets overseen and completed by our competent, licensed (#MRSR2994) mold remediation contractors.

Flooding is a challenging situation, especially when contamination could be a factor. Can Flood Water Removal Save Coral Springs Homes?

Water damage from groundwater is one of the single most devastating disasters a home can have. It is filthy, sludgy, often smelly water, and even half an inch has the potential to leave the house destroyed.

Flood water removal from Coral Springs homes takes place in different ways, depending on the amount of water.

The technicians have training and certification in mold remediation #MRSR2994 and know the early warning signs to stop mold colonies before they set up home in the property.

Flood Damage Usually Looks Worse Before Getting Better

Because of the way sheetrock wicks moisture, it often requires cutting away using a method known as flood cuts. This action fully opens up wall cavities for complete drying, Due to the contaminated nature of black water; unfortunately, most porous items such as carpet and padding have no restoration potential and require disposal.

SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland at (954) 973-4130 stands ready to assist local properties with any flood water removal needs. The technicians show up quickly and leave the property, "Like it never even happened."

Our success gets linked to our commitment to customer satisfaction and is the same belief that has our team following up with every client to ensure they are happy with the results.

Fire Damage Restoration

Fires can be a destructive force for Coral Springs homes. With firefighting efforts and the spread of damaging effects throughout a property, many owners can find themselves ill-equipped to handle the disaster. Our SERVPRO professionals have accreditations through the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) in both fire restoration and odor control. So our team has gotten sufficiently prepared for nearly any obstacle we could encounter in the recovery of your home.

Because of the area of the country, many structure fires can leave wet smoke residues behind. These emergencies have a slower burning rate from a lower temperature, so the fire smolders and leaves substantial particulates caked to surfaces throughout the affected areas. We have premier cleaning products and utensils to ensure that we provide every Coral Springs home or business the same level of care and consideration to return structures to pre-fire conditions.

We are part of a large loss recovery team, which has helped us to become a trusted name for residential and commercial customers alike. Fire damage to Coral Springs properties can sometimes require more resources and personnel than initially believed. We have boosted our inventory and partnered with other branches to ensure that homes and businesses get the immediate response they need exactly when it is needed.

Mold Remediation

Mold remediation is not something that many homeowners can successfully handle on their own, and so they seek the restoration services of our SERVPRO team instead. We have an entire division of qualified personnel with IICRC certifications as Applied Microbial Remediation Technicians (AMRT.) This training and experience in the field have helped our team to provide fast and confident responses to Coral Springs homes that believe they might have mold growth.

One of the areas where our professionals have set ourselves apart in the restoration and remediation niches is with servicing marine vehicles and yachts. With constant threats of water damage and lingering moisture on these vessels, we have developed sound strategies to remove mold colonies without damaging structural materials. Soda blasting can help to remove mold colonies in both Coral Springs homes and marine vehicles alike without damaging the hosting material.

Because deodorization can often be a challenging task after mold damage in Coral Springs homes, we have full-service contractors that can oversee controlled demolition of damaged drywall and other materials that can amplify musty odors. Our licensed contractors (#MRSR2994) have years of experience and can help to remove compromised construction materials, debris, and work with our customers on their exact wishes for reconstruction afterward.

Water Damage Restoration

Many of our longest-standing employees of our SERVPRO team belong to our water restoration division. With so many of our service calls being water recovery, we encourage a large portion of our technicians to obtain certifications through the IICRC in Water Restoration (WRT) and Applied Structural Drying (ASD.) We want to ensure that no matter what emergency threatens your Coral Springs home, we have the personnel ready to mobilize at the first sign of an incident.

We strive to provide our customers with a comprehensive experience when it comes to the damage that water loss incidents can create. We know that structural concerns can often go hand in hand with substantial losses, so we have a team of contracting specialists ready to help with debris removal, controlled demolition, and full-scale build back for Coral Springs homes. These efforts follow other mitigation tasks to eliminate standing water and saturation.

We invest in the premier extraction and drying equipment needed to make the most efficient restoration approach for water damage in Coral Springs residences. We have multiple extractors that we can choose from, including sump pumps and wet-vacs, as well as hundreds of high-velocity air movers to help reduce moisture quickly.

Storm Damage Restoration

Is Fire Damage Cooking in Your West Coral Springs Kitchen?

When your home experiences a fire, call SERVPRO! We have the knowledge to restore your home quickly.

Extra Problems After Fire Damage in Coral Springs Kitchen

Even a small size kitchen fire leaves several issues, including fire damage, water damage, foul odors, and there is the threat of mold growth. The cleanup needs to begin quickly, or soot has the potential to spread throughout the home.

Eliminating the chances of cross-contamination is one of the first actions SERVPRO technicians take against fire damage in Coral Springs homes. The containment may be simple barriers with thick plastic sheeting or negative air chambers, depending on the amount of damage and potential for foot traffic to spread soot.

Mold is a Threat After Fire Loss

SERVPRO technicians know that mold spores can germinate within 24 hours when ambient moisture levels are above 50% humidity, and temperatures average over 70F-degrees. They hold mold remediation certification #MRSR2994 and know the early warning signs of infestations. Proactive treatments involve complete water extraction and the rapid lowering of indoor air moisture levels through the use of air movers and dehumidifiers in tandem. Antimicrobial cleaning solutions work to inhibit mold as an issue.

Controlled Demolition is Often Necessary

As long as charred building materials and contents remain in the home, the danger of spreading soot remains. The cutting away and removal of burned items works to lower odors.

Readying the Property for Reconstruction

After the removal of the fire loss items from the house, the techs prep the home for reconstruction. Some painted walls have the potential for cleaning, however dependent on the heat of the fire, the possibility of deeply embedded soot in the paint remains. In those cases, the application of a sealant provides an odor-free surface that only requires repainting.

Inspection of Ductwork

If the HVAC system ran any time after the fire, there is a likelihood of soot within the ductwork. After the cleanup of fire loss in the home, they inspect and clean the ductwork as needed.

Fire damage needs fast action. Contact SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland at (954) 973-4130; the technicians are available 24/7 to make the fire loss in your home, "Like it never even happened."

Professional Water Removal Overview for Your Coral Springs Residence

We know what it takes to get the job done for your Coral Springs water damage.

We know what it takes to get the job done for your Coral Springs water damage.

When your Coral Springs home faces exposure to significant water incursion, you need to arrange for the fast and thorough evacuation of the fluids. Water is a surprisingly corrosive substance, capable of causing substantial damage to both structural components and the contents of your dwelling in a matter of hours.

We visually inspect the affected area and also use specialized devices to help trace the migration of water from the initial loss site. Water can percolate through several layers of flooring and seep into cavities behind walls, below floors, and above ceilings.

After the water removal and drying, we arrange for repair, replacement, and rebuilding of structures partially removed or damaged.

Water Removal Includes the Drying Protocol

Excess moisture provides a perfect growing environment for mold, so SERVPRO must bring structural and ambient moisture levels to normal. Our Applied Structural Drying (ASD) crew positions commercial air movers and adjust temperatures to move water from building materials to the air as vapor. HIgh-efficiency dehumidifiers capture and condense or absorb the vapor for disposal.

SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland offers a highly-qualified team of water removal experts to members of our community. Call (954) 973-4130 for an assessment, water removal plan, and implementation 24/7.

Mold Remediation After Water Loss in Parkland Homes

Lingering effects from a water loss incident can often lead to worsening conditions for Parkland properties. As much as many homeowners can discredit the hazard of mold growth in their home as a minor inconvenience, there are two specific reasons why you want to address this threat as quickly as possible. Our professionals have extensive training in mold remediation, becoming accredited through the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) as Applied Microbial Remediation Technicians (AMRT), Water Restoration Technicians (WRT) and in Applied Structural Drying (ASD.)

This training has helped our team to address both the causes and the effects of mold damage in Parkland homes, and our success in this area can get attributed to our commitment to a fast response and cutting-edge equipment. We want to exceed the expectations of our customers by providing them faster service than they expected with more than merely satisfactory results. We are not happy unless you are.

Mold growth can develop in as little as 48 hours under the appropriate conditions. Spores exist in nearly every environment we encounter, leaving no area of your home safe from this possibility. Lingering moisture from a water loss can provide the level of dampness necessary to facilitate colonization. Without immediate action, the organism spreads quickly to susceptible materials, degrading and eroding their composition as the colony grows.

Our SERVPRO team has efficient approaches to remove colonies from your home while protecting the installed structural elements when possible. Also, we have real-time solutions for the musty odors, air quality concerns, and other threats that colonization could present.

As much as our professionals have a restore before replacing mentality, this is not always possible. We often get to these mold damage situations long after they have started, and the only solution left is controlled demolition. We have a team of licensed contractors (MRSR2994) that can help to make this process efficient with drywall removal and flooring repairs. Once the mold colonies have gotten eliminated from the house, our team can help to make it “Like it never even happened.”

It is not uncommon for lingering water and flood loss effects to generate mold colonies, and you need professionals that can help. Our SERVPRO of West Coral Springs / West Parkland remediators have experience and training to make short work of microbial threats in your house. Give us a call anytime at (954) 973-4130.
