Stormwater Meets a Hardwood Floor in Coral Springs
When a driving rainstorm breaches the walls and open window of a house in Coral Springs, the homeowner can expect a large amount of damage. The Before Photo shows an oak floor, set atop a crawlspace with joists, beginning to warp from the standing water. The SERVPRO technicians quickly set up wet/vacs and squeegees to remove the pooling water. Not shown in these photos, several drying mats hooked up to injectidry equipment suctioned out the remaining moisture from between the tongue and groove slats and the floor joists. By slowly drying and ridding the boards of moisture over a week's time, the cupped boards returned to their preloss condition, "Like it never even happened."
